Let’s talk about the office space. . Having great posture means maintaining the spine’s natural curves. Improper posture can make your muscles and ligaments work harder to keep your back aligned. Have good practice by sitting tall and chest high and making sure that your ears, shoulders and hips are in line and your buttocks are at the back of the chair. . Adjust Your Chair... Refer to our last post for more details on choosing and working on your chair options! . Adjust Your Computer Monitor Keep the monitor around eye level to help your neck to be in a neutral position while you work. Try stacking textbooks or something that is stable below the monitor if your monitor is not adjustable to eye level. . Check the Position of Your Keyboard and Mouse Have your keyboard parallel with your forearms and your forearms resting on the table. Place your mouse as close to the keyboard as possible to avoid unnecessary reaching. . Get up and take breaks! 5 Tips to find the best office chair for YOU 1. Comfortable seating Your seat should allow a little bit of extra space from your thighs and your back. The front of your chair should waterfall down to allow you to have better posture while sitting. 2. Adjustable seating... Have adjustable chair that can compromise with your figure and height. Your knees should be leveled or slightly below level and your feet are firmly on the ground. 3. Lumbar support Have lumbar support that fits you and make sure it feels right and comfortable for long periods. 4. Hip support Your chair needs to provide some room for the hip to allow you to sit properly with enough thigh support. 5. Let your chair BREATH? Sitting for long periods of time can permanently deform your chair depending on the material it’s made of. Deforming in the chair can lead to discomfort, imbalance and hip and back fatigue.
