~ Time for an intro post! ~ Thank you for following along on our mostly infrequent, sometimes raw, occasionally beautiful, always real posts. ~ We started this journey about 10 years ago, inspired by our children to create a farm that produces food by working with nature. We are continuously moving toward greater diversity, improved soil health and increased nutrient density. ~ You will always see the farm kids working hard and engaged on the farm. They manage all sorts of l...ivestock from hatching/birth to butchery. They are well on the way to being better gardeners than I am and are very active in the kitchen. Since they are pretty photogenic, the farm kids are often our ambassadors. ~You will NEVER see any posts with Colin in them as he refuses to be photographed yet he is always juggling working full time with farming full time. He is taxed with fixing ALL the things, running machinery, fencing, deliveries and every little thing. ~ My name is Minda and I am the one behind the pics and posts. I am an RN and currently work as an instructor at a regional college. Normally, I am part time and this works well for us with the busy farming season off and extra time to manage the farm. This year it’s full time and is a struggle as most things have been this year! I love to tend to our animals, it is where I truly feel at home. I also love everything about food - fermenting it, eating it, reading about it - in the past we have planned entire vacations around eating! Hey there! We are still here! Saskatoon folks we are headed your way on Saturday with some really beautifully grass finished beef. Please let me know if you are in the market for beef.

Just some beer braised grassfed short ribs. These guys are an awesome, meaty English cut that our butcher does a fantastic job of. They have been in a low oven all afternoon and are fall-off-the-bone tender!
