Well, isn’t it hard to believe that the summer is already almost over? Here are our September hours: Weekends/Holidays: 12-8... Weekdays: 2-8 The store will start closing at 8 as of this Monday, the first week of September. We will continue to open at 12 on weekdays until September 7th (labour day).

Stayed in Niagara-on-The-Lake for a couple nights, on my way home now, but I had to visit Cow’s ice cream, I hear about it often, but have never been. Their sign said best ice cream in Canada - I say second best!

My mom and I were able to take a couple days off together this week! The team is taking care of the store till Friday, I will be back Saturday!

Hello everyone! Just a reminder that the grand opening for the Thames Centre Dog Park is this Saturday, August 8, at 10am! We hope to see community members ther...e with their dogs, ready to use the park! There will be a couple speeches, a ribbon cutting, and then the park will be open! This also serves as a reminder that this park needs the help of community members through donations to help pay for the park. I have attached a picture of the contributor recognition sign that is now up. Plaques for those who have donated will also go on this sign so we can all see who helped make this park possible. If you wish to donate you can private message me for more details, email Carly Woods at [email protected] or take your donation to the municipal office. All donation amounts are accepted, but there are set amounts to receive a plaque on the sign. (See poster for more details in the comments)

Hello everyone! I feel the need to clarify something - The Chief Medical Officer for Middlesex London Heath Unit created the mask order, and the Municipality of Thames Centre created a bylaw to enforce the order, businesses are REQUIRED to enforce the rules regarding people wearing masks while indoors... This is simply for the safety of the community. I of course understand that unfortunately not all of you agree with this rule, we are doing our best to accommodate everyone! ...For those of you who forget your masks, we have been serving you from outside our side door. Over the past couple days my staff and I have witnessed some unfortunate scenarios. Someone blocking our parking lot, with anti-mask messages spray painted on the side of their car, another person going up to my customers without a mask on harassing them and telling them the government is trying to control us, and today someone screaming at my staff and slamming the door before we were able to offer to serve them from outside. I will continue to follow these rules to keep both my community and staff safe. Please respect my staff who are being told to follow these rules, and more importantly, respect each other!

Hello everyone! As some of you likely already know, today the Municipality of Thames Centre passed a by-law regarding face coverings. A few days ago, the Chief Medical Officer for the Middlesex London Health Unit released an instruction to wear facial coverings while in enclosed public spaces.... Today, the municipality set a by-law in place on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer which requires the public to wear face coverings while in enclosed public spaces within Thames Centre. This means, that everyone will have to wear some sort of face cover (ex. mask or face shield) while inside businesses. The Frozen Cow, as a business, is required to follow this by-law, and therefore we will be only allowing people with face coverings into the store. The Municipality of Thames Centre Special Events Committee has dropped off some of their leftover sparklers! We will hand them out to families (parents/guardians) who have not received some already, while they last! Special thanks to Dorchester & District Lions Club for helping the committee hand out the sparklers!

Kelly Elliott - Deputy Mayor has encouraged residents and businesses in Thames Centre to Go Gold for Grads by decorating with gold today! Thames Centre is also encouraging everyone to decorate their porch for Canada Day! The Frozen Cow did some decorating today with gold balloons for the 2020 grads, as well as red and white flowers and mini Canadian flags for Canada Day!... We encourage everyone to join in and decorate their spaces to show community spirit during these tough times!

Small Town Happiness... was at the Frozen Cow last night and it was such a beautiful night... we saw two different girls out celebrating their prom! Their speci...al prom at LDSS would have been yesterday but due to covid it was cancelled. As promised, this is a post that will address how we will ensure the safety of both our staff, and our customers, during these strange times! First off, the store remains cash only for now! I am working with a card services merchant to accept debit cards, both tap and pin (Apple Pay, and Android Pay, with debit cards will also be accepted). I am hoping to get this set up as soon as possible! But for now, please consider the store cash only! Another note, our hours will be 12-...9 every day of the week. We will obviously be encouraging everyone to follow the governments social distancing regulations! If you have to wait in line, we ask that you wait 6 feet apart from the person ahead of you! Hand sanitizer will be provided, people who wish to use it as they enter or leave the store, may. We will be limiting how many people will be allowed in the store, at this time, one household will be allowed to order at a time. My staff will be wearing masks while serving you. As always, my staff will not serve you after touching money, without first washing their hands. We have installed 4 sheets of plexiglass throughout the store! One by the cash register, and 1 over each of our three freezers. All of our freezers have sneeze guards in addition to the plexiglass, 3 layers of glass or plastic between you and our ice cream. We have always tried to keep our store as clean as possible, but we will continue to clean as often as possible to ensure cleanliness! Finally, our biggest renovation of all... I have personally invested in this building to install a second door. We received permission from the municipality on Friday, and installed the door Saturday! This way, we will have an enter door, and an exit door, so our customers dont have to walk by each other while entering and exiting the building! This will also enable us to have a quick flow of traffic through the store, to reduce lineups! We are still finishing up this door, by building a small patio/platform at the side of the building, this is being built Monday! Our staff have been sent their schedules! We officially re-open Monday June 8th! That is less than 72 hours away! Hours will be 12-9 daily (7 days a week) We hope to see you all soon!... Something I would really appreciate... Please remember that both my staff and myself are learning at this time with regards to operating during Covid-19, Im sure we arent going to be perfect, but we are going to try our best! Guess what!!!! . . . .... . First off, we are hoping to open next week, or the week after! We are just finishing some renovations at the store, to make it safe for both you and our staff! But here is the exciting news! We are adding a third freezer this year, who is ready for 28 flavours?!?!

This photo was taken in 2017 when I first opened The Frozen Cow at 16 years old. It was a risk for me back then, and without this community, my dream would not be existent. First off, I would like to thank everyone reading this post for their support over the last 3 years! Next weekend, the first weekend in May, is usually when we would open to start off the season.... I have decided, that at this point in time it is best for everyone involved, staff and customers, to delay opening The Frozen Cow this year, one month. The Frozen Cow will open June, and we will make sure everyone is safe when we do open. When June comes, I will announce what procedures we at The Frozen Cow will follow in order to provide the best service possible during these times, while ensuring the safety of all involved to the best of our ability. This decision is extremely hard for me. Anyone who knows me, understands that this is one of my favourite times of the year. I would like to conclude, by thanking all essential service workers and businesses. I would also like to thank all of our customers who continue to do their part by social distancing. The government also deserves my thanks for making this decision easier on me. Because of their actions, I am able to know that staff who rely on my business to provide them work during the summer, will be able to pay for their education through student aid.
