The just released federal budget includes measures to help first-time buyers. The CMHC First-Time Buyers Incentive will provide additional funds of up to 10% of... the value of a new home and 5% for an existing home for homes valued up to about $505,000 and for those with household incomes up to $120,000. This means applicable first-time buyers will borrow less and have lower mortgage payments.The budget also raised the amount that first-time buyers can withdraw from an RRSP under the Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) for a downpayment from $25,000 to $35,000.
