The Love Bus

The Love Bus needs a set of 4 tires! 10R22.5 or 11R22.5! One of the rear tires has a massive crack in the sidewall and we have to replace the tires as a set for safety. The rear has four tires in total, and they are big! This also makes them expensive!... We are looking into getting used or retreaded tires. The Love Bus will be out of commission until I can replace the rear tires. Discovered this huge crack in the sidewall and bad tread wear a couple weeks ago when working on the brakes with a friend... I've gotta save up probably at least $3000 to replace them.

I want to clean the ball pit balls in time for Simon & Lauren's wedding... I'm thinking about Sept 7.... I'd like to see how many volunteers I can gather to help clean the balls and wash the Love Bus before the event (I also might split off and replace some marker lights on the Love Bus at the same time if we find enough people)... Patrick came over today to help Ryan replace the freeze plug that had been plaguing The Love Bus since the block heater plug popped out on the first trip to Burning Man back in 2012! A huge thanks to Patrick for making this happen! As a side note we discovered that we had a bypass filter for the cooling system that probably saved the bus engine couple of times from the water pump failing twice.... Also holy crap the starter motor is really freaking heavy in this old pink girl! We had to take it out to get to the freeze plug. (Thank you Kris for suggesting the Patrick come out and help today)

August 19th & 20th I'm going to try to work on the Love Bus to fix the coolant leak... If anyone has replaced a freeze plug before or is good with mechanic stuff I could definitely use a hand. Please and thank you )'( <3 -Ryan

The Love Bus needs a mechanic! It lost all of its coolant by the side of the road and it is now parked up until someone will come along and figure out what’s wrong, and help it get back to making people happy.

After an amazing weekend for The Love Bus, at Pride, the bus has broken down again. :( It is stranded on the street at 6558 McMillan Way in Richmond.

If you have lost your personal property in the ball pit; we are really sorry but we can't find it either. Our best advice is: - NEVER take anything in a ball pit that you cannot afford to lose. - Items usually settle to the bottom, search along the floor with your hands. It can take a while but this method does work with patience.... - Ask nicely if others in the ball pit can help. Unfortunately, if our tiny team of volunteers had to search for lost items, we would be unable to maintain our volunteers and the bus would no longer be available for events. There are 30,000 balls in the pit, and checking under each one can take days. We are all volunteers and our time available for the bus is finite. We do empty the ball pit annually (usually in spring). When we can gather 5-6 volunteers, for 8-12 hours, during nice weather, we can clean out the pit. Any items we find are returned to the person named on them, and un-named items that appear to have a value of over $20 are posted on The Love Bus Facebook page. When the bus is not at events, it is stored in a private location, outside of Vancouver, that is not accessible to visitors.
