Holiday Message from The Rise Eatery This holiday season sure feels different, and we hope you and your loved ones are staying healthy, cheerful and well. As we reflect on 2020, one thing rings most true - we are ever more so appreciative for your continuous support since we opened three and a half years ago, and as we have been navigating our way through the pandemic.... This year has served its fair share of difficulties. Many restaurants and food businesses are struggling, and without the support of locals like you, without hardworking staff, without amazing supportive suppliers we don’t know where we would be. So thank you for taking this difficult year on with us. Although the holidays are very different this year, we still wish to celebrate this magical season with you. We’d love to be a part of many family/household celebrations this year whether it would be in our spacious and beautifully decorated dining room or in the comfort of your homes. Chef Dan has once again created some delicious festive eats. Glittering Poul-Tree is a Chinese interpretation of an American Turkey dinner, in homage to Chef Dan’s roots. Of course, our bartenders have also crafted some exciting holiday cocktails to pair with our dishes. We’d love for you to come and enjoy them. You already know @chefdanleung loves to take inspiration from diverse cultures to bring unique flavour melodies to the table - having created Lebanese, Moroccan and Caribbean influenced turkey dishes in previous seasons. Nothing says holiday feast quite like a turkey dinner - but this year’s dish is unlike one you’ve ever had before. This Christmas, our Glittering Poul-tree shines bright in tribute to his own roots - Chinese cuisine. The local, free run turkey is seasoned an...d roasted with five-spice, stuffed with Cantonese style wild mushroom sticky rice stuffing and served with miso butter glazed root vegetables and a side of goji and cranberry compote. There’s something so special about how Chef Dan spun the classic turkey dinner on its head and created a unique, meticulously designed flavour experience. If you've visited our space in South Granville we hope you remember our decor as homey with an organic, modern style. We decided on wooden table tops to create that organic feel. Chef Dan and a dear friend trimmed each piece of acacia to size themselves and installed legs right on site! We love getting our space festive for the season. Fun fact: Our signature dish, Uni-Versal Pasta comes in multiple different versions! 1) UNI-VERSAL PASTA - This is the lunch version of the dish, a little lighter than the other options, and easily customizable. You can add XO sautéed prawns and fresh uni to it to spice things up. 2) UNI-VERSAL PASTA XO EDITION - This is the dinner version with prawns sautéed in our housemade XO sauce. Gives the dish extra umami and cuts through the creaminess with the perfect amount of savou...ry flavours. 3) UNI-VERSAL PASTA XO DELUXE - this version is only available during BC local uni season between specific months of the year And BONUS: Picture number 4 is of our SUPREME edition version dressed with XO sautéed lobster tail. This dish was a creation debuted in February 2020 for our Valentine’s Day menu. Will it be making a come back at some point?
