Thistle Thursday Update: We did it! We have saved the Thistle Lawn Bowling Club. Thank you everyone for their contributions. This final weeks donations go towards helping pay the water bill at the club. Every Thursday in July, the LSN London Committee is watching the skys, the radar, and wishing for sunshine with texts flying all over to committee members to make the call on the weather. We have been lucky in the past to only postpone one event because of the rain. It is kin...d of Ironic how we are raising funds for water, but at the end of the day, the club needs the water to keep the greens healthy to be able to use for lawn bowling. A special thank you goes to Carmeuse for a $1,000 donation, and past participants for their contributions, Lexus 1 and 2, Lawn Jeremy, Big Johnson Lawn, Schwetty Bowls, Kiss My Grass, and others. Finally, a huge shoutout to Chris Clark, my mom, for putting us over the $10,000 mark! That’s it for now- see you on greens in the summer!

Tara Bourque is a 2-time double lung transplant recipient living with CF. This is her story. There is a GoFundMe launching on August 10th, 2020 to save the Thistle Lawn Bowling Club. Without the club, we cannot have events like London Lawn Summer Nights which has raised $350,000 since inception for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Stay tuned for more details!
