In recent weeks, we have seen an increase in the number of new COVID-19 cases in Durham Region. Effective last Monday, November 16th, Ajax moved into the Orange-Restrict category of the provincial framework. This means that enhanced measures, restrictions and enforcement will be in place to limit further transmission, while avoiding any closures. In light of this, we are no longer scheduling any services where the mask is removed. This includes upper lip, chin, full face an...d facial treatments. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the health and safety of our community has remained our number one priority. I know it has been a hard eight months. I know we are tired. But we must work together to protect our most vulnerable. Please, keep your social interactions to those within your own household. Effective Monday, November 23, 2020, Durham Region, including the City of Ajax will move into the Red-Control category of the provincial framework. In light of these changes, we will no longer be able to offer services above the neck where the mask needs to be removed. This includes upper lip, chin, full face and facial treatments. The City of Ajax urges everyone to do their part to:... protect ourselves and one another, including our front-line and essential workers keep our local economy open and support family-owned and other local businesses support our local health care system and help ensure it doesn’t become overburdened Every action matters. Commit to these 4 steps to stop the spread of COVID-19: Stay apart - Maintain 2-metres distance from anyone who doesn’t live with you or is not your essential caregiver. Mask up - Wear a non-medical mask when it’s difficult to maintain physical distance and where masks are mandatory. Lather up - Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer. Stay home - limit trips outside of home to essential reasons like work, school, grocery shopping, and medical appointments. We continue to book appointments as per normal.
