The pandemic has affected us all in some way. The homeless people in our community are not immune to these challenges. Since March there has been an increase in... homelessness in CK and Maple City Homes is empowering our community to raise money to help the homeless. For every $3 raised, Maple City Homes will be donating $1 up to $25,000. The goal is to raise $75,000 in our community and Maple City Homes will donate $25,000 to make it an even $100,000. If you'd like to donate, please click the link below. https://app.gigitmarketplace.com/group/uwock/donate Thank you to Robb, Trevor, and the rest of the team at @maplecityhomes for giving back to our community.

Change starts when we listen. These are the voices of the homeless in Chatham-Kent. "I've been homeless three times since I've lived in Chatham - three times. O...ne time was almost a year because of the house fire." -G. "We need more support. We need housing." -K. "To rent a place, it used to be - you shook a hand, here's your money. And now you have that to fill out [paperwork], they want credit checks, they want your job, they want everything" -S. There are many organizations out there every day listening to and addressing the needs, but there is so much more to be done. #UnitedWeCan #TogetherWeWill Chatham Hope Haven Chatham-Kent Children's Services Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent Chatham-Kent Police Service CK Public Health Chatham-Kent Employment & Social Services Municipality of Chatham-Kent NeighbourLink Chatham-Kent ROCK Missions Sandwich Guys Street Friends United Way of Chatham-Kent Windsor/Essex Community Health Team - Street Health HVC Team Gregory Drive Alliance Chatham Kent Women's Centre

Today is a day of reflection as we remember our veterans who stood together to protect those in need, and represent this country we all love.

"Take care of hunger and homeless people. You guys do a lot for us, but you guys don't actually know how it is to be homeless unless you've actually been homel...ess." Organizations have come together to hear from people who are experiencing homelessness in Chatham-Kent, and acting on those needs. Caring is the first step to the solution. #UnitedWeCan #TogetherWeWill
