Tillsonburg Curling Club 24.01.2021

Acting President’s Message Welcome to the Tillsonburg Curling Club. Hoping everyone had a COVID-19 free summer and is looking forward to the upcoming season. The club held its AGM meeting on August 12th and is currently running with last years board. Over the last two years, the club has seen a lot of improvements made, with some donations and a lot of hard work from a number of volunteers. ... It is the primary goal of this board to provide a safe and healthy environment for its members to play, have fun and experience good fellowship. With this in mind, the acting Board of Directors has decided not to open this year until January 4, 2021. Registration will be due between Nov. 23rd to Nov. 29th. To help keep rates low, we need volunteers to fill positions of President, Treasurer, Secretary, Board Members, getting the club ready, ice painting, obtaining advertising sponsors, etc. To view the Return to Play Protocols and Membership information please visit tillsonburgcurlingclub.com. These will be posted within the next few days. Thank you for your support Ken Patterson Acting President, Tillsonburg Curl

Dale M. Fanset Birth: March 16, 1964 Death: April 30, 2020 Dale Mitchell Fanset, 56, of Tillsonburg, passed away suddenly on Thursday April 30, 2020 when his immense heart became too much for the physical confines of his body. Formerly of Kingsville, St Thomas and London.... Dale was born on March 16, 1964 in Calgary Alberta, to his good natured, air force veteran (WWII) father, Joseph Terry Armand Fanset and his lively, loving mother, Frances Virginia Coxe Fanset. From a young age they encouraged his bright, playful take on life, most often delivered with a mischievous grin. He is survived by the love of his life, his best friend and partner, Stephanie McGregor, who, hand-in-hand, made the most of every single day that they were gifted together. He will be deeply missed as well by his son Travis Fanset, who, though broken hearted, takes solace that he follows in his father’s footsteps as a great sportsman and a man with a zest for life. Dale, the youngest of eight, is also survived and was dearly loved by his sisters Darlene Boucher (Robert); Connie Fanset; Deane Loraas: Teresa Wilson (Brian) and Shane Presse (Derek) and his brothers Dave (Cindy) and Joe (Becky). Likewise, he is survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember their Uncle Guido for his fun antics. His cousins south of the border will miss his fun-loving nature, as well as all the friends he made along the way. An accomplished curler, golfer, baseball player, darter and beer pong champion, Dale could be described as the life of the party and likely had a beer cozy that crowned his just that. He will likewise be missed by all the curlers that had the pleasure of playing on his rinks, the ice of which he took much pride in. The same can be said of the greens and turfs he made ripe for a good round. Dale will likely be Takin’ Care of Business from now into eternity on the wild blue yonder’s dancefloor surrounded by all those that he loved and passed before him. Dale gave his final gift as a donor to the Trillium Gift of Life. Cremation has taken place. A Legacy Fund in support of junior curling is going to set up in his name. Wareing Cremation Services, 346 Simcoe Street, Tillsonburg entrusted. Your messages of remembrance and condolences may be shared at www.wareingcremation.ca Cheers Dale. You are greatly loved and will be missed in kind. Arrangements A memorial (party) of the most epic proportions in honour of Dale will have to take place at a later date.

Men’s league 3rd draw winner of Harry Dykxhoorn’s rink including Sean Partlo, John Lohuis and Paul DeCloet easily coasted to Gold with a perfect record of 5 and 0 with no byes. They did it the hard way, total points 87 1/4. Probably a record for one draw. Paul Walker filling in for Paul DeCloet in picture.
