I would like to give a big congratulations to Dave Rees who was promoted from acting lieutenant to full-time lieutenant. Congrats Dave and thanks for all your hard work over the last year. I would also like to congratulate Bryon Bambrick and Colton Burns who were promoted to acting lieutenant. This is a long process which considers years of service, application, interview, scenarios, written answers, lesson plans, and teaching our firefighters. Throughout the next year they w...ill continue teaching our firefighters, attend an officer training program, participate in on-call duty officer rotation, and attend officer meetings. After the year they will have their final review to be promoted to full-time lieutenant. Congratulations again to all three of you in your new rules!

So every month we are going to share some of our videos from within the fire hall and this month is 12 Holiday Tips for Fire Safety. I would like to thank the production crew and our hard-working actors for the making of this video. https://youtu.be/9lNBo2ky4XE

The Hinton Fire Department would like to welcome our newest Work Experience Program Firefighter, Blair Laughlin, to Hinton. Blair was born and raised in Kinburn, Ontario where he grew up on a farm. Blair attended Algonquin College in Ottawa where he completed his NFPA 1001 Level 2 fire courses. Blair received the Ottawa Fire Services Award of Excellence. While in college Blair’s passion for fire grew and after graduating he joined the Ottawa Fire Services volunteer fire depa...rtment in Kinburn. Blair also worked as an oilfield firefighter in Fort St. John British Columbia. Blair loves the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and woodworking. He is looking forward to exploring Hinton and expanding his knowledge and education. Congratulations Blair, we know you will be a great fit to the fire department and we look forward to working with you.
