With Remembrance Week behind us, we continue to honour our veterans including 99-year-old Second World War Veteran Marvin Gord. Marvin is walking one million steps for Baycrest Foundation before his 100th birthday on Dec 31. Last Wednesday, Marvin's journey brought him to Fort York National Historic Site, where he received a warm welcome during its modified #RemembranceDay ceremony.
Congratulations to Montgomery's Inn, one of City of Toronto - Your Local Government's Toronto History Museums, for winning National Trust for Canada / Fiducie nationale du Canada's Ecclesiastical Insurance Cornerstone Award in the Restoration Category! The National Trust Awards honour contributions to community, identity and a sense of place. The Inn's recent restoration increased its accessibility and flexibility so that period spaces are easily transformed into gathering places for the ever-growing Etobicoke community.
