It’s time to bring back the clock to SAAG!
Congratulations to Shawna and Kyle for winning the 2020 Landscape to Win Contest. They used some of our popular materials (Limestone, Washed Gravel, Pea Gravel, and Mortar Sand) to brighten up their property. They took home a great prize pack valued at $1000!
The Alberta Roadbuilders and Heavy Construction Association, along with Lethbridge-East MLA Nathan Neudorf, held an event Thursday to spread the message ‘Don’t RIP Through Construction Zones’ as part of a revived campaign for 2020. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay attention to construction signs during the summer months.
Have you ever wondered what old streetcar rails (set in the street in 1912) look like when they're dug up from 3rd Avenue South? They look like this! The stree...tcar was in operation from 1912 to 1947 and a double track went down 3 Avenue South from 5 Street to 13 Street South. From my research, these were buried around 1949. They make it very hard to get down to the sewer and water lines for repairs and will, unfortunately, be coming up with the 3rd Avenue South reconstruction. I do know, though, that the Galt Museum was on hand today and will be getting a piece of the rails and hopefully track for their collection. More to come on the story of the buried tracks. And I wonder what else they will find as they dig deeper into this road and unveil the 100+ year old sewer and water lines and other old infrastructure. See more
Tollestrup Construction proudly hosted the MADD - impaired driving awareness program at our river bottom location!
