This is a 38 yo male from the USA who had a 2939 graft FUT/strip procedure to address hair loss in the frontal and mid-scalp. He also had thinning of the crown but for this surgery he wanted only to rebuild a conservative hairline and add density behind it. At the time of his surgery he was also started on finasteride and later he added topical minoxidil to his hair restoration plan. Given that he lived so far away some of his follow up was by email with pictures. You can see... that as early as 7 months after his surgery he already had significantly more density in the frontal scalp, as well as a hairline! Fourteen months after his surgery he had even more density, and he was really happy with the result. This patient came back to see us in person 20 months after his surgery and he continues to be really happy with his new hair. He’s still taking finasteride and using minoxidil. This is a 24 year old woman with hair loss in the hairline from years of scratching and pulling combined with genetic recessions in the corners. She had not had any further losses for at least 2 years and she was seeking restoration with surgery. She needed upwards of 1500 or more grafts and therefore we opted to do an FUT strip surgery for her. Harvesting that many grafts by the FUE method would have required shaving more hair than she was comfortable with, and she knew she ...would be able to conceal the resulting scar with her existing long hair. We harvested 1675 grafts and used them to fill out the thinner spots right in the middle of her hairline, as well as add density to the recessions in each corner. You can see from the pre-op surgical photos how thin those recessions really were. We used smaller, single hair grafts at the front of the hairline and thicker, denser grafts behind them to create a natural-appearing transition. She returned almost 2 years later for follow up having attained an amazing result. Her hairline is nicely rounded and appears completely natural. This is Adam Rivietz, and his journey to a new head of hair. In his own words. His story begins 11 years ago when I was on a summer camp trip with 120 kids my own age. I vividly remember getting out of the shower one day and noticing my entire scalping revealed, there was barely any hair on the top of my head. I was completely devastated. I thought that it was far too early for me to lose all the hair on the top of my head. I was just 16, and even though I knew my older broth...er went bald at 18, I thought that there had to be something I could do to get rid of this terrible feeling that I had. It was so much anxiety and I was so embarrassed, that I really, from 2009, from that moment until now have not gone in public with my hair wet again. Flash forward to my first year of university, I was still embarrassed, I was still anxious about my hair, and I contemplated taking Rogaine. I looked at the pricing, I looked at potential side effects, but I decided against it. Maybe had I taken some preventative measures, I could've prolonged the inevitable, the hair transplants, but we're here. It was really two years ago when I noticed the right side of my hairline start receding. I had to make sure I was covering my entire scalp, so I started with the comb-over and really strategically placed every bit of hair. For the receding hairline, I went on Amazon and started looking up the top-ranking products for hair loss.
