We have partnered with our client located in the west end in their search for a Controller to manage their accounting department including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. In this position, you will oversee 3 companies and prepare both month-end and year-end financial closing activities, including reconciling accounts. You will also prepare journal entries and financial statements for reporting. Duties and Responsibilities... - Prepare month-end and year-end closing activities - Prepare various reports for owners, banks, and management requests to be used in decision making ex. profitability analysis - Reconcile balance sheet accounts - Manage the expense management reporting system including credit cards Year-end payroll functions T2200, government remittances, account reconciliations - Prepare and assist with physical inventory counts, comparisons, reconciliations - Prepare financial statements for reporting purposes - Assist with forecasting and budgeting Job Requirements: - CPA Designation is preferred however not mandatory - 3 years plus previous experience managing a small team - Excellent systems background Sage Accounting, QuickBooks, MS Excel, Concur Expense & Travel Management System, ADP Payroll Processing are highly preferred - Strong sense of judgment, discretion and tact - Strong analytical and organizational skills - Attention to detail - Technical and systems service industry experience a definite asset To apply, please send your cv in confidence to Sandy Thomson at [email protected]!
