Over the holiday season everyone has seen MADD Parkland at various locations in the region, bundled up armed with candy canes and red ribbons. Our volunteers br...ave the cold to stand along the side of the road or near drive throughs handing out hundreds of red ribbons to raise awareness and collect donations. Due to the current situation of Covid-19 we are unable to have these events. Much like many other non-profits in the region this effects our fundraising ability, and in our case more importantly limits our awareness campaign. We are looking for partners that would be willing to tie the red ribbons on their fleet vehicles, hand out to staff or give to clients. Our volunteers will deliver ribbons to your site free of charge but donations are welcome to help us keep our educational and awareness programming going. Thought great strides have been made over the years to reduce impaired driving, it continues to be a deadly problem on Canada’s roads. Continued awareness efforts are vital. Our Project Red Ribbon campaign helps keep the sober driving message top of mind during the busy holiday season. With parties and celebrations plentiful, the risk for impaired driving is especially high. Our red ribbon is a small but powerful symbol of the wearer’s commitment to sober driving. From November 1st, 2019 to January 6, 2020, MADD Canada Chapters and Community Leaders will distribute over a million ribbons and red ribbon car decals to Canadians to wear and display as a reminder to: Never drive impaired or ride with an impaired driver. Plan ahead if you’re going to be drinking or consuming cannabis or other drugs. Call an Uber or a cab, arrange a designated driver, take public transit or stay the night. Unfortunately, with the COVID-19 pandemic, The Tuber Towing Trekkers T3's have had to change their first ride. We are training and can't wait for the weekend to arrive. #ThrowbackThursday to our very FIRST roadside service unit Tuber acquired in 2014. Tuber Transport needed a fully equipped emergency service truck for their ever growing transport fleet. This unit, known as unit #82, grew up to become a full service battery and traffic control unit. It aided the Tuber crew in completing repairs in the dusty farmers field Tuber rented a spot on. With no power outlets in the field, this Ford Ranger allowed us to have endless accessibility to power wherever it was needed. This was the very first unit Tuber Towing brought on with AMA - Alberta Motor Association.
