Why is it SO hard to get back into a routine after the holidays? I get asked this every year, and I am going to tell you a few potential reasons WHY. 1 The routine/ lifestyle you carried out before was too restrictive.... Once you had a taste of freedom, there was no going back! 2 You are doing too much at once! If you’ve been out of your routine for a while, work baby steps in beginning with your mornings. 3 You haven’t set FEELING goals. If you don’t achieve a desirable feeling, it’s hard to get connected to your goal - no matter what it is. What can you do to make routine EASY? Focus on FLEXIBILITY! Both in your nutrition and your schedule! Restriction never made anyone happy, nor will it help you create healthy relationships with food and exercise! Say no to restrictive methods and quick fix/ fad diets! Evaluate how you want to FEEL. How you want to feel personally, and in all areas of your life in the long term, may not reflect your current state. Reminding yourself of how you want to feel in a week, a month or 6 months down the road will help you push through the I don’t want to moments. Focus on one goal at a time. Find a program that fits your lifestyle. If training 5 days a week isn’t doable right now, why the heck are you signing up for that? Get someone to meet you where you’re at and TEACH you to LEARN what a good training/ nutrition balance looks like for you. It is so easy to write this year off as complete . But it’s all about PERSPECTIVE. This year hasn’t been easy for anyone. But easy never made anyone stronger or more resilient.... This year challenged us on a personal level, in our businesses, and our relationships. If I’m being perfectly transparent, I NEVER thought that the year I’d get engaged, that I would be spending more time and energy planning grieving and planning my Mother’s funeral than my own Wedding. I never thought I would experience loss, sadness and exhaustion in the capacity that I have in the last 4 months - and today is no exception as we received news of the loss of a very close friend. But I choose to see the brightness in all of this. Because of the circumstances I have faced this year, I have been blessed with... more time with my family than I have had in years. rekindling friendships that have always been strong, but needed some more love. getting to become my own boss full-time. an amazing group of clients that feel like family. learning about strength that I didn’t know I had. more time to train for my shows in 2021. While none of these things takes away from the pain, or lessens the meaning of what was taken away this year, they make things a lot brighter and better. YOU CHOOSE your perspective. YOU CHOOSE to come out on the other side of your struggle STRONGER. I choose to accept the struggle and learn from it. I choose to accept the strength that came from overcoming. With gratitude

You ate your weight in food over the holidays... Or maybe you just dabbled a bit in some treats! And I hope you enjoyed every darn second of it!... Here is the thing... If your program made you feel like you fell off the wagon or off track, that program isn’t built for a sustainable lifestyle. Why? Because part of LIFE is being able to celebrate the holidays - Christmas, Thanksgiving, Birthdays... WITHOUT feeling like you weren’t supposed to. Truth : You guys, Christmas is less than 0.1% of the days in a year. So please never feel bad for enjoying your Mom’s stuffing or your Grandma’s cookies. That is a part of LIFE! Enjoy them! And if you haven’t started a program that allows you to feel like you’re in control and empowered during a celebration, I highly recommend doing your research to find a good fit for learning for you!

Ready to see bigger muscles and bicep veins again... Return to the stage is set for Fall 2021 and I couldn’t be more excited to see the gains made in the last year and a half! While I was in prep for 3.5 months this year, I have never had two years of off season to grow!... Am I always motivated? Absolutely not. But I am determined AF to make it to the bigger stages next year! What is your big goal for 2021?
