THIS NEEDS TO BE A PRIORITY CONVERSATION!! Below is a story from CBC News "A new report prepared by several groups, including the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (ODPRN), and released on Tuesday, reveals the preliminary patterns in the province's rising tide of opioid-related deaths. ... In Ontario, the report says, 695 people died of confirmed or suspected opioid-related causes in the first three-and-a-half months of the pandemic, an increase of 38 per cent compared to the same period of time before the pandemic began. "If those numbers continue, we expect there will be about 2,200 opioid-related deaths across the province of Ontario this year, which is much higher than we've seen in any previous year," said Dr. Tara Gomes, an epidemiologist and chief investigator at the ODPRN."

We are still in the process of getting all this product out into the community. Know with your support, we have arranged for 17 to receive product to help the women they serve. Distribution is already under way so if you are in need please don't hesitate to reach out to the food banks, shelters and emergency outreach providers in #CKont. Their shelves should be stocked soon.

Women United and the CK Labour Council would like to thank all the people who donated to a pink bin, drivers who participated in the Donation Drive thru, workplaces, and labour community for supporting this year's Tampon Tuesday event. We were able to collect 40% more feminine hygiene items than last year!!!! Items have been organized and have already started to go out to 17 organizations who provide emergency outreach within #CKont.... Your generosity has blown us away. Thank You. #UnitedWeCan #TogetherWeWill
