This is my Grandfather, Robert Emmett MacKenzie McPartlin. He enlisted in WW1 and WW2. He lied about his age in WW1 because he felt that it was so important because of how great the need was for soldiers. Younger generations are fortunate these men and women fought to uphold the freedoms we enjoy today. Not only to be called once for the ultimate sacrifice but twice in a lifetime is something I hope my children and grandchildren and other generations never have to experience. But I’m more than proud of my Grandfather and everyone else’s family that has stood up to fascists, bullies and dictators. Lest we forget.
