Thank you to The Knittens for Kittens Project for their generous gift! The cats are going to love snuggling up to these beautiful blankets. Even if they have been pre-sniffed by soon to be adopted dog Siri. :)

Luna Mulligan Adopted Luna is lovely porky girl that loves to be around people. She is content to lounge around for most of the day, but has her moments of playfulness. She is curious of the people and animals around her but is still rather cautious when it comes to discovering new spaces. This sweet girl has had a rough go for the first part of her life. For no fault of her own, she has been passed around to multiple homes and would really benefit from the stability of a f...orever family. Luna has very beautiful long hair but because she is very overweight she is not able to groom her hind end. When we first met her was suffering from a severe bacterial infection that appeared to have been left untreated for a long time. Using the litter box was very painful for her and she did go outside the box but since she has recovered she has been using it most of the time. After a month or so of treatment the infection has cleared, she is healed and is feeling so much better. Luna will need daily cleaning and her hind end shaved about once a month to ensure it doesn’t become a problem again. If you are able to get the extra weight off of her she will be able to take care of things herself but until then she will need your help keeping things tidy. Luna would do best in a single cat home. We have not seen her formally interact with dogs yet, but she seems very intrigued by the ones that come through the pound and will likely do well with a dog that is good with cats. She is a little bit shy at first but Miss Mulligan has been nothing but friendly and patient with the humans around her. She is a stunning girl that is sure to bring lots love to her new home. We are looking for an indoor only home or an indoor home with fully contained outdoor access. She is not very adventurous so far and prefers to stay in one room so she will adjust well to an apartment. Luna is about 2 years old, litter box trained, spayed, dewormed, has her first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Luna’s adoption fee is $300.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Whenever possible, applications will be processed by email.

Tuchi Adopted! Tuchi is a special, silly, mush ball full of smiles who is looking for a stable forever home. Her favorite things are big fluffy beds, chew toys, belly rubs, falling asleep in your lap, and following you around everywhere she can. Once she chooses a favorite person, she is hard pressed to leave their side and becomes their little shadow which has turned into a great way to give her exercise since she loves to play chase. Tuchi is shy and nervous when you fir...st meet her and she will not approach new people. She will sometimes bark at people on the street who are just trying to say hello to her. After a little work building her trust which may take a day or two she gets to work on making you cuddle her by using her sweet sappy face and slow blinking at you. Then it’s all over. You will have a new best friend with lots and lots of love to give. Tuchi has shown to be quite laid back when it comes to cats. She is polite and ignores them but she is not good with large dogs. We have not seen her meet a small dog. We have not seen her interact with kids, but she would probably adjust well due to her love for attention as long as they are able to slowly and calmly let her adjust to them. Tuchi will likely bark at any visitors to the home but is otherwise quiet if you don’t count soft whimpers when she can’t be on your lap and wants to. When Tuchi first came to us, she was suffering from a very bad fungal skin infection. The poor girl was itchy all over. After a few vet appointments and medications it has since cleared, but she has food allergies and will need to remain on a hypoallergenic diet from a veterinarian to prevent further skin issues. Being a snub-nosed dog, she will also need regular cleaning of her facial folds. Tuchi is very well mannered and is comfortable receiving this extra care making cleaning, bathing and nail trims a breeze. Tuchi could use a little more work when it comes to house training. She seems to be good as long as she gets out on a regular schedule but has had the occasional accident while here. Tuchi is a small size French Bulldog about 4 to 6 years old. She has just had a dental and been spayed. She is microchipped, dewormed, and has been treated for fleas. Tuchi’s adoption fee is $750.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Bear Adopted! Bear is a loving and friendly young girl who just loves to be around people and THINGS. She is very curious and will want to join in on all of your daily activities. She enjoys going for walks, playing with her rope toy, and chasing after the ball (we are working on how to bring it back). Bear has been nothing but friendly with every person that she meets, making her an ideal family pet. However, she would do best without small children in the house, only bec...ause of her high energy level and some general clumsiness. Bear is a medium size heeler mix about 2 years old, house trained, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, has her first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Bear’s adoption fee is $ 500.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Whenever possible, applications will be processed by email.

JR - Adopted! JR’s favorite thing is a ball to chew. He loves an audience and is a big show off when he has one. He will occasionally drop it for you and sometimes even let you pick it up. He likes to play catch better than fetch but either will do! He has destroyed a 5 or 6 different types of balls and a kong here so he will need high quality chew proof toys. JR is a little nervous of new people but that only lasts a short time and he is very sweet. JR would be better suite...d to a home without children. He loves a nice soft bed and is happy to hang out on it in-between walks. He likes a good cuddle and will climb onto your lap if asked. JR has not been much of a barker and he seems to be house trained. JR is not good with some dogs and is good with others. He should always be leashed while out and only be allowed to interact with dogs that he has been slowly and properly introduced to. JR is about 2-3 years old, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, has his first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. JR’s adoption fee is $500.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Jasper Macadamia Adopted! Jasper is an indoor only cat that is accustomed to being the only cat and living in an apartment. He came to be at the pound after his owner passed away. Jasper is very big, very shy and very sweet. Jasper is very routine oriented and going to need a quieter home and a little more love, attention and cleaning than your average cat but when he meows and shows you his entire tongue then runs to his favorite cuddle spot his sweet loving demeanor will ...melt your heart! Jasper is finding adjusting to a new life difficult. He had to spend a few days on anti-depressants to get him eating and he still needs his canned food put into his hidey bed with him. Jasper is doing well all things considered but he does hide until you spend a few minutes coaxing him out. Once he knows your scent however you need only let him sniff your hand. Then he is all snuggles, purrs and head butts! Jasper may always hide when new people come around and will likely hide for some time while adjusting to a new home but he is very affectionate with people he knows. He will need regular brushing as his considerable size makes it difficult for him to groom all of himself. He uses the litter box but does make a mess of it! Jasper occasionally hisses and we have not yet figured out what upsets him but he does settle and become affectionate after you speak to him for a bit. We have been told Jasper is about 10 years old. He litter box trained, neutered, has his first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Jasper’s adoption fee is $100.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Gabe Adopted We have only known Gabe for a short while. So far he is a shy and an easy going lap cat. He has chosen his one favorite person and saves his lap time for her. She just happens to be the person who feeds him so he is also pretty smart. :) Gabe loves to eat, snuggle and be brushed. Gabe is still adjusting to life at the pound so we have yet to see his full personality but he has been very calm and gentle. He likes to hang out in his hidey bed and enjoys eating h...is food while you watch. Gabe is a little too shy for a home with young children. He seems to have good manners when it comes to other cats but we have only seen him meet one. He was interested in her until she hissed at him. Gabe slowly backed away and has since avoided her. This is a good sign he will do well with being introduced to a resident cat. We are looking for an indoor only home or an indoor home with fully contained outdoor access. He is not very adventurous so far and prefers to stay in one room so he will adjust well to an apartment. Gabe is about 3-5 years old, litter box trained, neutered, dewormed, has his first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Gabe’s adoption fee is $300.00. Buddy Toledo Adopted! Buddy is a very active playful young kitty. Buddy is a very sweet cat but Buddy is also dominant cat and he can be bossy and stubborn. If he wants a cuddle but you are busy he will get his cuddle! If it’s dinner time he will get very pushy. Buddy loves to be pet but does not want to be held. Mr. Toledo will fight with other cats and must not be allowed to come in contact with them. We are looking for an indoor only home or an indoor home with fully con...tained outdoor access. He will run through doorways so keeping him contained if you have direct outdoor access will be challenging. When we first met Mr. Toledo he had multiple wounds from cat fights. Buddy suffered a rather nasty bite to his leg that resulted in a bone infection. The bone had deteriorated and he was at risk of breaking his leg by just landing a jump which then would have resulted in his leg having to be amputated. Now Buddy has completed a very long antibiotic treatment which he disliked very much and his x-rays show his leg has fully healed! Buddy may develop arthritis in this leg later in life but for now he is a strong healthy boy. Buddy is about 2 years old, litter box trained, neutered, dewormed, has his first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Mr. Toledo’s adoption fee is $300.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. Dr. Carl Grumbles Adopted! Carl is a very lovable cranky kitty looking for a kind loving home that will enjoy his unique personality, teach him to trust and help him to relax. He is a very affectionate beautiful cat but he can be somewhat unpredictable. Grumbles is easily over stimulated during play or cuddle time. Carl has many opinions on things that he vocalizes. It’s easy to tell what he is feeling but not so much why. He will take a while to adjust to a new home. Carl ...will feel less stressed and be happier in a quieter home without young children. He gives some pretty great snuggles and is a very good lap warmer if it is quiet and there is not too much moving around. It’s possible not all of Carl’s past interactions with people have been pleasant ones. It would explain why he takes his time trusting new people and can be a bit of a bully while at the same time he dislikes being without a person and wants to cuddle or hang out near you. He loves to weave back and forth on your legs and sit in your lap but he seems to be trigged by hands near his head and occasionally by nothing obvious at all. Grumbles has been working on his anger management skills since arriving here and he will separate himself, calm down, grumble the entire time and then come back for more love or play. He improves daily and his angry moments are happening less and less. Carl Grumbles is thoroughly enjoying having regular meals. Dr. Grumbles fought with other cats while he was homeless. Just the smell of another cat is upsetting to him and he came in with many cat fight wounds. If he is kept away from other cats his stress level should lower significantly and he will be a happier cat. Carl needs an indoor only home or an indoor home with fully contained outdoor access to make this possible. Dr. Grumbles is about 5 years old, litter box trained, neutered, dewormed, microchipped, has his first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Carl’s adoption fee is $300.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. Regina George Adopted "Stop trying to make fetch happen!" We are just getting to know Regina and so far she is 80% nice and 20% spice. She likes to be pet but not picked up. Regina is about 3 5 years old, litter box trained, spayed, dewormed, has her first vaccines and has been treated for fleas. Lily Adoption Update It’s been a little over a year since Lily was found drugged, zipped into a bag and put in a garbage can at Hillside Mall. Thankfully she was found shortly after! Lily was rescued from a very dire situation and after some vet care she fully recovered. So many kind people were rooting for her recovery and we are happy to report she appears to be completely oblivious to the cruelty she endured. Lily is an exuberant cat and she truly enjoys life. She LOVES to run. It’s possible she doesn’t know how to walk as she is never seen doing it. Lily spends her time digging in the garden, chasing bugs, playing with her best cat friend and running as fast as she can at every opportunity. Did I mention she likes to run? :)

Duke & Duchess Adopted Duke & Duchess are both very sweet, kind, gentle and playful. Duke has a variety of facial expressions and you can easily tell what he is thinking. He will call Duchess into whatever room he decides he wants to be in as he does not like to be far from her. They are extremely bonded and must stay together. Duchess is more reserved and cautious. She likes to cuddle but won’t seek it out. If the timing is right she’ll give big purrs and lick your hand in... appreciation. She takes a little longer to join in play time but is quite a character once you get her moving. They are good with other cats. Duke is very interested in other cats but can be a bit of a pest because he will follow them everywhere. They both like to watch the dogs from the window. They will likely do well with a quiet cat savvy dog. When we first met them they behaved and had been living like feral cats. They were young, not spayed/neutered and are clearly littermates. We have been working with them for quite some time now and they have come a very long way but they still need work. They need someone who will initiate play and cuddle time. Duke has not declined an invitation to do either of those things in months. Duchess has been playing but has just started to enjoy a cuddle. We have not gotten to the point where they are okay with being picked up. They will do best in a quiet home without small children. These two still run away whenever there is a new noise or unexpected movement but they return with interest shortly after. They will likely take weeks to settle into a new home. Duke & Duchess are about 1 2 years old, litter box trained, spayed, microchipped, dewormed and treated for fleas. We are looking for indoor only homes or an indoor home with fully contained outdoor access. Their adoption fee is $500.00 for two (including tax). Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested please contact us at 250-414-0233 and we will email you an adoption application.

Millie Adopted Millie is an indoor only senior cat, litter box trained, spayed, dewormed and treated for fleas. Millie is in need of a kind person that can offer her a safe place to live out her final years. Millie has likely suffered some trauma in her life and will need some time and a gentle approach to adjust to a new home. She can be very guarded and fearful with new people but can eventually be won over with treats, canned food and/or cat nip. Once she trusts you, and... it will take some time, she is lovely and melts your heart with her facial expressions and personality. She keeps to a small area where she feels safe and will do well in an apartment. She loves a good ear scratch and enjoys being brushed. Millie’s mood can change quickly though and she will bite when she has had enough. However we have learnt that once she likes you, you get a warning and she doesn’t try very hard to actually get you. Then she immediately gives her best I’m sorry! Don’t go! look if you start to leave. It’s impossible to resist and she is very easy to forgive. Once she has settled in to a home and living in a less stressful environment she may become quite a different cat. She does not like other cats and even though they are separated she currently sees and smells them daily. Millie’s behaviour could easily become calmer, friendlier and more outgoing but her new people should be prepared that it may not change. Millie will need regular nail trims. Her nails grow long and curve inwards so if they are not maintained she is at risk of them imbedding into the pads of her feet. Millie’s adoption fee is $100.00. Our adoption procedures have changed due to COVID-19. At this time viewing will be done after your application has been approved and by appointment only. If you are interested or have any questions please contact us at 250-414-0233. Whenever possible applications will be done by email.
