While taking lessons with various teachers and workshops, her artistic endeavors have challenged her while having fun. Artist #1: Marie Jose Gelinas About Marie Jose Gelinas Marie José is a self-taught visual artist. She has always done creative work, but started to paint in 2013. She retired from a long career in Education in 2017. From the very beginning, she has been actively committed to her creative development. She is a member of the Women`s Art Society of Montreal as well as of Dollard Art Association and the Mouvement d’expression artistique libre in Pincourt, where she lives. She is... inspired by nature, in particular the cycles of the natural world. She is especially fascinated by the endless textures of things, and how they reflect the ever-changing light. She works primarily in acrylics, but she also includes many other media in her paintings. Her work is characterized by the use of re-cycled materials to create textures.
