This is a great story and indicative what you can do when you pursue your passion and don’t give up. It is so nice to see Clayton Jones's well-deserved success with his various railway operations. Clayton assisted the WCR many times when we purchased 6593 several years ago getting it running for us and providing critical operating advice. After that he was never too busy to take a call and answer our numerous questions. On behalf of the WCR congratulations on your success and thank you for your assistance over the years. https://obj.ca//regio/eastern-ontarios-new-railway-tycoon

They make it look easy. It's anything but. For the past couple days crews from PNR Railworks have been building a turnout that will ultimately provide two new shop tracks at the Waterloo Central shop in St. Jacobs. The new switch is being cut into the main track south of the shop. My respect for track workers and their art increases each time I see them at work.

COVID restrictions and health considerations may have forced the Waterloo Central Railway to cancel its entire 2020 season, but it hasn't dimmed the enthusiasm of the devoted volunteers working to restore locomotives and equipment during the down time. Observing COVID and health-safety protocols, they've kept busy rebuilding, restoring, and repainting locomotives and cars in preparation for our reopening next year. On Friday morning Brian, Grant, and Brad finished up on the... installation of new custom-crafted windows for former CP heavyweight coach 1437. As is evident, the 1923-vintage coach has been stripped for a thorough refurbishment and restoration adhering as faithfully as possible to its Canadian Pacific heritage. Peering in the window is former Essex Terminal 0-6-0 No. 9 which is also undergoing refurbishment as well as its regulated 10-year inspection. Shortly after this photograph was taken Brian, Grant and Brad moved into the adjacent bay to resume work on their next project, restoring former TH&B caboose 61 to its former glory. If all goes according to plan, you'll see all three on the road next year.
