It’s difficult to find the words to describe how I’ve been feeling, the last few months. Frankly,my eyes flood with tears every time I go out to the studio . Whispering Pines has been such a huge part of my life for the past 32 years. I have met so many wonderful people over the years. I have never thought of it as a job. It was just something I thoroughly enjoyed doing. ... Due to covid, I just can’t operate safely. You are all part of of the Whispering Pines family and safety of family always comes first. So, with a very heavy heart, I must announce that as of October 30 we will officially be closing. It’s been been a great ride. Cathy
Fall registration for classes are on hold. We will not be opening for September classes. Wearing masks all day at school is going to be a challenge for all kids. I just can’t ask everyone to wear a mask during a class here too. Stay safe everyone. I hope you are enjoying the sunshine!

On June 17 at 2 p.m., join us and Royal Ontario Museum for a Facebook Live event about Indigenous astronomy. When you look at the stars, what stories come to mi...nd? We’re used to seeing Greek and Roman stories when we look at the sky: Orion, Cassiopeia, Ursa Major. However, cultures all over the worldincluding Indigenous nations throughout Canadianscreated their own constellations to make sense of the world around them, reflecting the stories that were important to them. Discover the star stories of the peoples of Turtle Island, who have lived on this land for thousands of years, and understand their significance to guide, teach and inspire. Do you know any Indigenous star stories? What questions do you have about #Indigenous star knowledge? Let us know
