Not long now until you can take a hike to the river after supper on the patio, and grab a few handfuls of Saskatoon berries on your way down! The bushes grow naturally all along the riverbank and in the campground. They are known by other names across North America, like serviceberry or juneberry, but on the prairies we use the word that comes from the Cree name, misâskwatômina. They grow plump and ripen to a dark purple colour when they are ready to eat. We look forward to our first taste of 2020 Saskatoons!
