Its something I just don't agree with. Our culture and its images being sold by non native organizations or people. Here in BC its not just cloes designs its Native northwest, golden top, panabo and td fashion link. They all purchase the rights and sell at high mark ups with next to nothing back to the artist. I am sure their owners are all nice and friendly people but it doesn't change the facts. Actual native owned business get pushed out of they way because these companies manufacture overseas cheaper and give to stores cheaper. So the stores just go along with it. I'm not going to spend much of my energy on it but I will happily share my opinion on it. Support actual native people/business. There is nothing wrong with wanting to do that. Much thanks and respect to all that have supported my company from day 1.

An orange shirt because of six year old Phyllis Webstad who was proud to wear the orange shirt her grandmother bought her for her first day at St. Joseph's School in Williams Lake B.C. On arrival at the Mission, however, she and all the other children were stripped of their clothes, and Phyllis never saw that orange shirt again. "The colour orange has always reminded me of that and how my feelings didn't matter, how no one cared and how I felt like I was worth nothing," she said. "All of us little children were crying and no one cared." Today is a reminder that "Every Child Matters" . Throw back Thursday. Carry the Kettle powwow 2012 Saskatchewan. This was the first year I set up my booth here. I remember people didn't believe me that I drove all the way from BC to set up at their powwow lol. It was awesome though. Everyone was friendly, sales were great and good weather. Way way way back Wednesday. This is me i think in grade 7. My best friend next to me Jeremy. I always remember embracing that I was different than everyone. I was tall for my age, loved books and math, never went anywhere without gel in my hair lol. I'm still the same way today. I always tell my kids that the first thing in being a good leader is to be yourself. Its also a big part of my business model is to try be different than everyone else. Just be myself. Be unique.
