Women Helping Women Project 26.12.2020

If I can help one person, if I can stop one person from going down the road to addiction, then everything I’ve been through will have been worth it. COVID-19... made it difficult for Mark to find a home, forcing him to stay at a local emergency shelter for a number of weeks. However, with help from Lutherwood staff, Mark is now housed and wants to show his gratitude by giving back to his community. If you ever considered being a Host Family one Roof needs your help, HOST FAMILIES NEEDED! oneROOF Youth Services continue our effort to flatten the curve by practising social distancing and proper hand-washing. We also continue to provide essential 24/7 services for youth at risk or experiencing homeless, who for various reasons cannot simply stay at home.... Unfortunately, during the pandemic, we have witnessed an increase in youth accessing the shelter system who have no prior history of needing shelter services. We are also seeing an increase in intakes for youth under the age of 20. Due to this recent increase in numbers, oneROOF Youth Services is reaching out to the community in search of Host Home Providers to help divert these youth away from the shelter as soon as possible. We understand we are living in unprecedented times where one may be more hesitant to open their doors to a new face. oneROOF is committed to prioritizing the safety of all parties and will in turn provide COVID-19 testing to eligible youth prior to entering your homes. Our Host Home Coordinators are also dedicated to implementing a plan unique to all homes; including frequent in person and/or virtual meetings, virtual training, etc. To learn more please visit our website www.oneroof.org or email our Host Home Coordinators at hhinfo@oneroof

Great news! Sanguen health has shifted gears and is now offering mobile health care and is offering COVID support/testing for community members who would otherwise have fewer opportunities to access these services #kwrstrong
