Our owner, Nicolette has been spending the past 8 months talking with business owners all over Toronto trying to understand everyone’s opinion equally and with that information has collected these thoughts.... From the moment things got quiet in the beginning of March businesses have suffered. Before the shut down, revenue had already been down 50% from the scarce of the virus that we were faced with. By the last week of March everything was shut down and so it began. From the last week of March to early July, we were silent with so much unknown. Government programs, some would help but most would not and then the rush in July of business but was that rush positive? Maybe but it was really just catching up on lost time and money that had been borrowed for most small businesses. Most said that July & August were great... and most said September was good but then as October came the trends were getting right back to where we were in February and early March. October and November were not great months for most and a lot of small business owners struggled to pay themselves but there was a light at the end of the tunnel.... the holidays! And well... here we go again! For us this means our busiest season is now another moth of loss but for MOST Ontario small businesses, this means no gifts under the tree for their kids, filling for bankruptcy rather then having a few more dollars to spend working overtime and for some even loosing their homes and loved ones. If we can not provide our services then big stores should not be able to sell the products that we are being punished for selling. 4 and a half months, 500 services, 0 cases, 6ft distance, masks, sanitizing constantly, no food or drinks, half capacity and much more. Yes, it may be 28 days but we’ve been here before. Please, follow the rules. Whether you agree or not, we are at the mercy of others decisions good or bad. Yes, this is EXTREMELY unfair and we feel targeted but be a good human so Ontarian’s can continue to put food on the table and support your local small businesses.... if you can.
