Fire & Emergency Services | Belleville Fire and Emergency Services would like to caution residents in regard to two specific safety issues. It has come to their... attention that several homes in a new build area still have the red protective seals around the smoke/carbon monoxide strobe detectors. In order for the detectors to work properly, the seal attached to the upper part of the detector closest to the ceiling must be removed. On Saturday, Jan. 16, firefighters will be delivering notices to homes north of the 401 in Settlers Ridge but they encourage all residents to check their detectors to ensure this seal has been removed. There has been a Transport Canada recall for Hyundai Tucson SUVs over a fire risk. Details are available at: https://wwwapps.tc.gc.ca//VR/search-recherche/detail.aspx If you have any questions or concerns please contact Belleville Fire Prevention Officers Ryan Rutter 613-403-2574 or Dave MacMullen 613-403-5174.

Media Release: Non-essential travel discouraged in order to keep HPEPH in green/prevent zone I am asking all residents to consider additional changes they can ...make to help reduce the risk of exposure to, and spread of, COVID-19, says Dr. Piotr Oglaza, Medical Officer of Health and CEO at HPEPH. Please avoid travel to other regions unless absolutely necessary. Consider postponing invitations for visits from friends or family members who reside in other areas. Every new case in our region increases the risk of local spread and could severely impact our vulnerable loved ones. More: https://bit.ly/3987uwh
