One week ago, we lost a significant part of our comedy community with the passing of Andrew ‘Big Cat’ Vaughan. Through the years, to Halifax Yuk Yuk’s and Atlantic Canadian comedy in general, Andrew had been meaningful and influential both as a comic and as a friend. Being a favourite of the audience as well as of our staff, Andrew consistently delivered highlight performances on memorable nights for years. Most recently, we were very proud to have Andrew begin Headlining ...at Halifax Yuk Yuk’s, a role in which he performed at the level of some of the best veteran comics in the country. Through care, hard work, and a deep affection for the world of comedy, Andrew Vaughan had become widely loved and respected in Canadian stand-up. He was a born comedian, and he will be missed greatly. We absolutely recommend you check out Andrew’s 2017 album ‘Too Fat to Go Kart’. Mayce Galoni started performing stand up comedy when he was 15 years old at dive bars in Hamilton, Ontario. Now 22, he has gone on to perform across the country and appear at Just For Laughs Montreal, JFL42, Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival and more. ... He is a regular on CBC's The Debaters, and his debut comedy album "Praying to see Boobs" can be heard regularly on SiriusXM. In 2016, Mayce was a finalist in both SiriusXM's Top Comic and the Seattle International Comedy Competitions, and taped a set for Kevin Hart's LOL network. He has also appeared on MTV and starred in a prank show on BiteTv called Prank You which he is pretty sure now only airs in Brazil.
