COVID-19 TESTING. We appreciate everyone's interest in COVID-19 testing, but please be aware that the last day for testing at the Sportsplex was December 18. The Sportsplex staff do not work for NS Health, and we are not provided the information for testing happening in other locations. Please contact Nova Scotia Health for all information regarding COVID-19 testing in the province.

On Monday, December 21 at 6 a.m. we will officially reopen our doors following the recent shutdown. Memberships will automatically start at this time and will be extended to cover the time missed. Classes and activities will be available for booking starting today, Friday, December 18, at 4 p.m. We will return to the building hours we were operating on before the second COVID-19 shut down. There will be changes to our schedules:... - Games (hockey, basketball, ringette, etc.) of any kind will not be permitted at this time. - Spectators are not permitted. - The capacity of our high-intensity classes (Spin & Bootcamp) will drop to 6 to follow the new Provincial Guidelines of 3-meters between people instead of 2-meters. - There will be no open swims at this time. Stay tuned for when we bring those back. - Family swims, lane swims, and individual fitness time in the pool will resume. - Our lane swims will drop back down to a total of 8 participants. - Open skates will resume, please check our website for the schedule. - Our fitness class schedule has changed, please watch for these changes in MyRec and our online calendars. - We have added extra times for cleaning in our fitness centre. Today is the last day to get a COVID test at the Sportsplex! Testing ends at 5 p.m. today!

As per the new restrictions issued by the Provincial Government today, we will be shut down for a minimum of two weeks starting Thursday, November 26. This means that once we close tomorrow at 9 p.m., we will not reopen until at least December 10. We will continue to operate normally for the remainder of today, and tomorrow. We know you all have questions regarding programs, memberships, and more. We will provide more updates for you in the coming days when we have more infor...mation. A late start due to power outages, but classes are still happening online!

In response to today’s update from the Provincial Government on new COVID-19 restrictions, here is how the Sportsplex will be impacted: - Business and social gatherings, such as meeting room rentals, pool rentals, arena rentals, and gymnasium rentals, now have a maximum of 5 people without social distancing, or 50 while social distancing. - The spectator limit in the arena will now be 90 people (plus 10 staff).... This does NOT impact: fitness classes, the fitness centre, the track, swimming lessons, swims, open skates, or organized sports. If you have a rental at the Sportsplex that occurs between Monday, November 23 and Monday, December 21, we will be contacting you next week. As a reminder, you are required to wear a mask while in the Sportsplex. You must put on your mask before you enter the facility. Masks are required in the hallways, washrooms, and change rooms. Masks must cover both your mouth and nose. The only time you do not have to wear a mask is when you are working out or actively participating in an activity.
