Virtual Book Fair is Coming! Dear families, ÉLES is hosting a Scholastic Virtual Book Fair from November 23-29.... The Virtual Book Fair is a fantastic way to continue to give our students access to the books they want to read. We’re excited that you will be able to shop together, selecting the books that inspire your readers, from the comfort of home. All purchases benefit our school and earn Rewards that can be redeemed for books and Education Resources for our school’s classrooms and library. Due to Covid-19 ÉLES will not be having the annual Service of Remembrance. However, there will be a moment of silence throughout the school to honour the many who have fallen in service for our country and to acknowledge the courage of those who still serve.

Nov. 4, 2020 Dear Parents / Guardians, The ÉLES Polar Bear Club will be running for another year. Members of the Polar Bear Club have parental permission to go outside for their recess breaks (or portions thereof, depending on windchill factors and length of recess). The guidelines for Polar Bear Club are as follows:... Staff will use their discretion to determine when Polar Bear Club will run, and it will be announced daily at each recess break. Once permission has been granted, students will still have the option - at each recess break - to remain inside the school on days when Indoor Recess is occurring. If a student elects to head outside and then changes his/her mind, that student will be permitted to return inside, but they will not be able to go back and forth between inside and outside. Before heading outside, Polar Bear Club members will be expected to check in with a designated playground supervisor to ensure that they have permission and are appropriately dressed. (Dress in layers of warm clothing, with an outer layer that is wind resistant. Cover all exposed skin. Wear a hat, mittens or insulated gloves, neck tube or face mask and insulated, waterproof footwear.) Polar Bear Tags will be provided to those children who have permissions.
