Dear clients, Given the scale of the global crisis created by Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the seriousness of the situation, the Quebec Notaries' Union looked at measures to prioritize public safety as well as that of the notary and his staff. The situation that afflicts us requires measures for your health, for our families, our employees and our clients. The safety of all is a priority. Therefore, as a public officer, I have a responsibility to comply with the measures enacte...d by the state and to apply them in the best interests of all, and to adjust to them as they evolve. To do this, the cooperation of everyone is essential, including that of the collaborators. My office will unfortunately be closed to the public for the next 2 weeks. As of my return to the office on March 30, 2020, I and my staff will implement the following measures: *The office will only be accessible to my staff, and to clients with a scheduled appointment, which means no walk-in visits; *Any non-essential appointments will be postponed to a later date; *Any client or worker who has been returning from outside the country for less than 14 days or who has one of the symptoms of Covid-19 will not be able to access my office. Please contact me or my assistant so that we can make arrangements for your case. *Preliminary interviews will be conducted remotely, either by telephone or by electronic exchange where possible. *If you are a collaborator (real estate broker in particular), you can only access our offices by appointment; we will prioritize the exchange of documents required by email or electronic procedure. Any delivery by a collaborator, if essential and necessary, will be carried out as much as possible, remotely. *Where possible, sellers and buyers will be seen separately.
