Employment Opportunity - Adult Learning Program Assistant Are you searching for a rewarding position where you can feel you have made a difference? Beaver Count...y Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) is looking for an Adult Learning Program Assistant. Beaver County CALP is funded by Alberta Advanced Education and is responsible to strengthen foundational adult skills in an environment that supports and fosters growth and self-confidence. As a team, the Adult Learning Assistant and the Coordinator implement adult programs to support the development of literacy, numeracy, digital, and English language skills in Beaver County. Key responsibilities: Assisting the Coordinator in the attraction, training and retention of tutors by searching for and providing tutoring resources and other learning tools Matching learners with qualified tutors and continuously monitoring the success of ongoing programs and services; including individual learning plans Assisting the Coordinator in engaging with potential learners, community members, community organizations and various other stakeholders to continually assess local adult learning needs Using creativity and innovation to develop programs that both meet local needs and align with the CALP mandate Ensuring learning outcome and statistical data is accurately collected and compiled Participating in opportunities for professional development and ongoing education Qualifications: Completion of a post secondary certificate in Adult Learning, English Language Learning (ELL/ESL), or a diploma in a related human services field. 2-5 years of experience in community-based adult literacy, adult ESL program delivery or administration, non-profits or the charitable sector, or a combination of equivalent experience(s) Demonstrate commitment to adult learner success Excellent speaking, reading and writing in English Excellent interpersonal and rapport building skills to support/create optimal learner outcomes; friendly, non-judgmental, patient and reliable Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team Flexible and willing to adapt to change High level of professionalism and ability to develop and maintain community relationships Excellent attention to detail and strong computer skills Successful applicant will be required to provide a current vulnerable sector police information check Permanent Part-Time Position for 24.5 hours per week for 42 Weeks per year (off July, August and two weeks of December). Hourly wage between $20.77 - $31.97 depending on education and experience. Applicants are asked to submit resume and cover letter before Noon on December 7, 2020.
