This coming Wednesday, February 17th, we have a rare opportunity to have a Holocaust survivor as our guest speaker. will be 90 years old this summer and has been sharing her story for over 20 years. In order to avoid persecution during World War II, she and her family had to relocate several times. Then after her father was arrested and sent to a Concentration Camp, she was separated from her family and went into hiding. At first, she was hiding with 100 hundred othe...r Jewish children in a safe house run by the Jewish Scouts of France, and everyone in the house was protected by the entire town in Moissac, France. Then, when it was no longer safe, she was sent as a Catholic orphan with a new identity to a boarding school. When that was no longer safe either, she was sent to a nearby farm to stay with family until it was safe to return to the safe house in Moissac, and eventually reunited with her some of her family. All cadets and families are encouraged to participate in this remarkable opportunity and hear this brave and resilient woman speak about her survival during one of the darkest times in our recent history.

UPDATE #2 -- Re-save the dates! With Ontario's recent announcement that spring break will now be held the week of April 12-16, our plans for the Cadet Activity Program (CAP) will be aligned accordingly. The "Cruise-into-Spring" CAP Challenge still promises to be a fun and exciting week. Given the date change, we will review availability and feasibility of locations and facilities (for possible in-person trials) and previously selected activities, guest speakers and dai...ly schedules. We recognize the evolving COVID-19 environment, including the risk of new variants, and all CAP activities -- whether virtual or limited in-person -- will be conducted in accordance with Gov't of Canada, provincial and regional/local health authority direction and protocols.
