Parks Canada has issued a warning for all areas surrounding and including the Town of Banff due to a cougar displaying aggressive behaviour after approaching a ...dog walker at a close distance. To avoid an encounter with a cougar, or other dangerous wildlife, you should be prepared to: Travel in groups and keep everyone together. Be especially cautious when travelling during dawn and dusk, when wildlife is most active. Travel slowly if you are cycling or jogging, and do not wear ear buds. Make noise to alert a cougar or other potentially dangerous wildlife to your presence. Carry bear spray in an easily accessible location and know how to use it. Keep your dog on a leash at all times and walk your dog during daylight hours if possible. Leave the area if you see or smell a dead animal. Never approach, entice or feed wildlife. If You See a Cougar Do not approach the animal. Face the cougar, and retreat slowly do NOT run or play dead. Try to appear bigger by holding your arms or an object above your head. Immediately pick up small children. Be aggressive. Shout, wave a stick or throw rocks to deter an attack. Report your sighting, immediately, to Banff 24/7 Emergency Dispatch at 403-762-1470. https://www.pc.gc.ca//bulletins/747A027E-A95A-461A-97D7-0C

After a few days of calls, messages, and comments, we have our tournament bracket! BEHOLD! A good mix of stuff is here: classics, a Shakespeare, a musical, a Christmas film (again), Oscar winners, comedies, dramas, a game show. Voting rules: comments on our FB and Instagram as well as calls into the station will count. I try to keep the voting period 24 hours each (ties after 24h, and the final round may see longer voting period). Bribes considered. ... The first phase will begin tomorrow! What are your predictions? xo Marcus Williams

If you have anything you'd like to share with the panel, the deadline is 4 PM today. https://iaac-aeic.gc.ca/050/evaluations/proj/80101 -Rob

The Royal LePage Rocky Mountain Realty Food Drive is back for its 29th year on Thursday, December 3rd, but COVID has forced changes to the massive volunteer effort we'd normally see that night. I spoke with Brad Hawker about how people can register for a collection that night, donate food or cash anytime at their office, and why this event is so important for the Bow Valley Food Bank and Bow Valley Christmas Spirit Campaign. https://www.mountainfm.ca//covid-forces-changes-to-canmor/ -Rob
