Wow what a life us ranchers live!! Love the family farm ranch life and wouldn’t want to be doing anything else!! Today we did the fall roundup of our purebred cows with heifer calves off the homestead of the late Francis Alexander of Lenore. From a early age I always enjoyed my visits with Francis. The cattle knowledge he possessed and his step to holistic and proper pasture management was incredible. ... Was never a pasture tour without getting his opinion. Leaned so much from those discussions. Always enjoyed picking his brain about different things we could do on our ranch in terms of grazing management etc. Very fortunate to be able to graze our cows on this beautiful, native 1120 Ac tract of land. Cows and and calves came off grass in excellent condition. It takes a crew to roundup these cattle and walk them home 7 miles. Thanks Travis and Karlee, mom and dad for all the help !!

"the surrounding countryside is a walker's paradise" For me it’s fall roundup and seeing all the big butted Charolais calves as a fruit of dad, mom and I’s hard labor. We are a family farm so it’s always great spending time with our family. The main white walking bull at our ranch! SCX Jehu 233E (pictured sept 2020 after breeding 50+ natural this season). SCR Triumph 2135 x SCX Hillaro 49T... We purchased Jehu as the high selling bull in the Triple C charolais Bull sale in Ashern in 2019 as a 2 year old. Jehu was used successfully as a yearling in the Triple C program before we purchased him in their two year old bull sale. He calved extremely well and the calves grow!! Homo polled, carries the leptin gene. Outcross to most of the popular genetics today! EPDS top 30% for BW, 3% for YW and 5% for WW. 20+ sons sell in our annual bull sale- March 22-on the farm- Lenore MB! One of the most exciting bulls we have walked to date!! American friends- all bulls are exportable to the USA! We do all the export tests and will get you your bull.

Had some greeters this am filling bins during our harvest. Really excited about our calves off our new herdbull SCX Jehu 233E. EPDs are top 3% for YW and 5% for WW. He has been used successful in our herd and the Triple C Charolais program. Cheers to all the farmers out there who measure their days in acres and not hours this time of year!!

An example of our first calf purebred heifers! Rarely does a first calf heifer have a bull calf that makes our feature pasture but this one did! Really impressed with the condition this first time momma maintained as well. Over the past 35+ years we have always had the motto make your females stronger and stronger and the bulls will come!... She is carrying a service to PCC Gualtieri 858F, a full ET brother to Cays Full House working at Steppler Farms which we purchased from Prairie Cove Charolais this spring.
