WARWICKSHIRE’S FINEST SELECTED TO REPRESENT HER MAJESTY’S LORD LIEUTENANT Nuneaton based Royal Air Force Air Cadet, Flight Sergeant Owen Blood of 121 (Nuneato...n) Squadron has been formally appointed as Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Warwickshire. During the online virtual presentation ceremony on 08 October 2020, Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant of the County of Warwickshire Timothy Cox, formally appointed five of Warwickshire's finest cadets, to act as Lord Lieutenant's cadets. The Lord Lieutenant, Timothy Cox, expressed his admiration for the outstanding achievements of his newly appointed cadet representatives. He said, These cadets have set an excellent example to other young people and I am delighted to be able to recognise their outstanding service within the cadet forces by making these appointments today. They are a credit to themselves, their units and now their County. As a Lord Lieutenant’s cadet, Owen’s duties will include accompanying the Lord Lieutenant Timothy Cox at special civic and military engagements throughout Warwickshire. Officer Commanding 121 (Nuneaton) Squadron, Flight Lieutenant Paul Hincks said, Flight Sergeant Owen Blood has shown consistent determination to achieve his individual goals and has always supported his Squadron in its community activities. I am pleased to say that Owen has truly demonstrated that he is an outstanding example to other young people within our Squadron and the community as a whole. He added, Owen has most certainly demonstrated his total commitment to one of the most important aims of the Air Cadet Organisation throughout his cadet career, namely, ‘To foster and develop the qualities of leadership and citizenship.’ As such I had no hesitation in recommending his appointment as Lord Lieutenant's cadet for Warwickshire.

We don’t know what summer 2021 will look like but we are currently exploring an array of options to offer unique experiences without compromising the health and safety of the cadets and staff. In the next few weeks you can anticipate more information about our progress. Stay tuned.

The first place winning entries at the national level in all cat...egories in the Poster Contests, and the first place winning entries of the Senior categories in the Literary Contests are displayed at the Canadian War Museum from July 1 to May 1 of the following year. For the Poster Contest, the second and third place winning entries are displayed in the foyer of the House of Commons during the Remembrance period in November.
