Teacher Feature Time: Miss Christy! Christy has worked extensively as a dance educator in Toronto, teaching for The National Ballet of Canada YOUdance and Luminato, to name just a couple. Here at Swansea School of Dance she teaches Modern, Tap and Jazz to children and adults. She also directs and choreographs for our Company Dancers as well as working with our administration team. Christy is a beautiful and accomplished contemporary dancer and choreographer having performed the work of: James Kudelka, Noemie LaFrance and Catherine Murray and presented her own work at Luminato, Summerworks, and Summer Stage Portugal in Lisbon. Alongside her impressive professional resume, she has created powerful and inspiring choreography on our students. We love having her creative energy around the studio!

Teacher Feature Time: Miss Hillary! For Hillary dance is a way of life and an outlet for self expression. From jumping in puddles to busting a move on the Toronto stage, Hillary has been dancing her entire life. She is a certified dance teacher and is excited to be part of the Swansea School of Dance faculty. While she teaches Jazz, Lyrical and Conditioning she also directs and choreographs for our junior Company. On top of that she is also our fabulous Office Manager! Does your little boy love running around the house like a Superhero? Then Superboys is the class for him! Come Wednesday’s at 5pm for an active, imaginative hour of burning off all that superhero energy in a class entirely for boys!

Do you want to explore all sorts of different ways of moving and creating movement?Creative, grounded, fluid, sharp - Modern Dance is for you! If you are ages 7-8 try Jr Foundations Modern on Wednesday’s at 4:45pm. If you are 10-13 try Open Modern on a Thursday’s at 3:45pm.

Want to be able to learn TikTok dances faster and execute them better? Try Teen 2 Jazz Saturday’s at 1:15pm! Fun dance combos, powerful jumps and turns, and a great workout too

Do you love to express your feelings through dance? Try Introduction to Lyrical on Tuesday’s at 4pm! Lyrical is the softer side of Jazz dance where you will learn to express yourself and tell a story.

First day back to dance! We can’t wait to see you! Do you have a beautiful ballerina-to-be twirling around the house? For 3-4 year olds try PreSchool 1 Fridays at 10:15am or Saturdays at 11am! For 5-6 year olds try PrePrimary Ballet Tuesday’s at 4:15pm. These classes are fun, imaginative, active introductions to dance and music and are 45 minutes long.

High energy, pop music, big jumps and kicks and turns! Sound fun? Try Jazz 3 Saturday’s at 11:45am. Registration for this dance year is still open. Classes begin tomorrow!

Recently a group of our dancers and teachers had the opportunity to participate with Door to Door Dances in a Physically Distant Outdoor Performance at a Retirement Residence in Milton. So fun to be able to perform in a safe way and bring joy to some residents! Stay tuned for more on Door to Door!

Have a 6-8 year old who can’t stop moving? Try Jazz/ Tap 1 Wednesday’s from 4-5pm! In person classes at the studio start this Saturday! We couldn’t be more excited to dance with you again!
