JOHN BROWN GALLACHER, Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry Acting Corporal Gallacher died in The Battle of Mount Sorrel on June 2nd , 1916 at the age of 25. A. Cuthbert, a fellow Patricia recalls: Later, I went down the trench and saw Cpl. Jackie Gallacher, 1529, who was an Original lying with his head on his arm stretched over the parados of the trench. He looked as if he was asleep, there didn’t appear to be a mark on him; however, on taking a closer look found both his legs blown off. Once a brave and noble Calgary Firefighter, Acting Corporal Gallacher is now remembered at Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial in Belgium. #wewillremember #lestweforget -Cathy
