We're celebrating #InternationalVolunteerDay by showcasing Scouters across Canada! Scouter Spotlight: Ashfaque Nalim, Group Commissioner, (163rd Islamic Instit...ute of Toronto) Helping youth learn and grow through Scouting, from Beavers through to Venturers, is the cornerstone of Ashfaque Nalim’s many years of volunteering. Scouts Canada is a great way to give back to the community by helping youth become team players and learn leadership skills and citizenship from the youngest age. This software engineer has been a lifelong member and credits Scouts for teaching him the skills used daily in his professional role as a team manager. Ashfaque has volunteered at the Group and Council level and is currently also a Council Voting Representative. He’s also the co-creator of the Muslim Scout Fellowship Canada, an initiative that promotes Scouting among the Muslim community and helps young newcomers transition to life in Canada. Shout out to volunteer Storyteller, Kate Macdonell, for showcasing some of our many amazing volunteers across Canada for #IVD2020.
