Markham Cat Adoption & Education Centre 19.10.2020

After careful consideration and research to determine the safest way to resume adoptions during COVID-19, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is introducing LIMITED CONTACT ADOPTIONS at its animal centres across the province. (The Markham location is exempt from this list). The health and safety of our team members, communities and animals is our top priority. The Markham Cat Adoption & Education Centre still remains completely closed to the public and is currently inactive. We are not processing adoptions of any kind and our staff is working out of the Provincial Education and Animal Centre in Stouffville. If this all sounds too familiar to you, here are some tips from the Fear Free program to help make things easier : https://ontariospca.ca/blog/fear-free-nail-trims-from-home/

Happy #felinefriday When the temperature drops, you may wonder what happens to the community cats in your neighbourhood, which some people refer to as feral cats. While community cats are adept at surviving outdoors, the harsh winter months can make it very difficult for them to find food, water and shelter. Extreme winter weather can lead to frostbite and, sadly, some cats perish from the cold. To learn more on how to support community cats in your neighborhood visit https://ontariospca.ca//how-to-support-community-cats-thr/
