Algoma University Visual Art Program has an extra special Special Topics this summer. Professor Annie King is teaching the course and there are still a couple spots if you'd like to sign up. Here is the description and a video about the course. The spring term starts June 1! For more info contact [email protected] Visa 3026 Special Topics: Art-making in a Pandemic ... This home studio and art history based online course centers around themes related to the effects of pandemics on Visual art practices. The course will survey art historical references both historical, contemporary and present-day and consider the myriad of ways in which visual artists have responded to adversity in the creation of their work. Students will be required to complete written responses as well as creative visual projects in relationship to specific themes or art historical references. Students will focus on creative problem solving and adaptability in the creation of visual works. Given these unprecedented times, this course may be adapted based on student resources. See more

Hi Everyone, This week we will begin to post the Algoma University BFA Thesis Exhibitions, in the order they were intended to be shown. The shows were originally set to begin in March but the Algoma U faculty gave the class a bit more time to adjust to online presentations. 180 Projects is still thrilled to be hosting these exhibitions in our virtual spaces - here, on our website, and our instagram. Stay tuned for some really amazing solo shows by each of these artists!

Hello Everyone, unfortunately we, like all other galleries, will not be able to host exhibition openings at this time. We are working to get the Algoma University BFA Thesis Exhibitions viewable online, through multiple platforms. We will be posting images and links to the BFA student work here, please do support the students and check out their work, as well as the work of BFA and MFA students all around the work. (on instagram and fb via Social Distance Gallery )We will host the Thesis exhibitions in the physical realm once we are able to. Hope you are all staying safe and making or looking at art!
