INVITE ALL CANADIAN YOUTH Like the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada as a whole, the Cadet Program is stronger through the diversity of its people. Cadet and JC...R Programs are open to all youth age 12 to 18 that are Canadian citizens or are authorized to reside in Canada. Although the program is expected to be physically and mentally challenging, there will be no artificial barriers developed which preclude participation based on gender, race, culture, religion, education, socioeconomic status or ability. The programs will make reasonable efforts to accommodate. February is Black History Month, an important time for us to reflect on the past and current contributions Black Canadians have made in our country, our culture, and our communities. Share your own stories and check out the Government of Canada’s Black History Month website for more information and links to learn more about the significant contributions Black Canadians have made. https://www.canada.ca//canadian-heritage/campaigns/black-h ( pre-COVID)

Today is National #FlagDay, the 56th anniversary of the adoption of our beloved #CanadianFlag . And we, the members of the Canadian Armed Forces, wear it proudly each and every day when we put on our uniforms in service of this great country. Canadian Heritage

UPDATE #2 -- Re-save the dates! With Ontario's recent announcement that spring break will now be held the week of April 12-16, our plans for the Cadet Activity... Program (CAP) will be aligned accordingly. The "Cruise-into-Spring" CAP Challenge still promises to be a fun and exciting week. Given the date change, we will review availability and feasibility of locations and facilities (for possible in-person trials) and previously selected activities, guest speakers and daily schedules. We recognize the evolving COVID-19 environment, including the risk of new variants, and all CAP activities -- whether virtual or limited in-person -- will be conducted in accordance with Gov't of Canada, provincial and regional/local health authority direction and protocols.

Save the dates: 15-19 March 2021 ...... the directive ("ops order") was just issued, so plans are starting to shape up! Flexibility is key, however, given the c...urrent COVID-19 environment, which will determine the extent of the CAP in various communities in March, but we are planning for a variety of fun, challenging activities in locations across the region (ON). Maybe we can play this next year when we get that band back together. Then again, maybe not. :)

As our flags fly at half mast today, in all their beautiful glory and grace, always remember those who fought and those who continue to fight, to give us our freedom. There is no greater sacrifice. Lest We Forget!

Although Cadets and Officers are not authorized to attend commemorations in person this year, there are still virtual ways to participate in this important day.
