Bonnechere Caves 10.12.2020

In honor of Throw Back Thursday check out the Bonnechere Caves brochure that was used in the 50's, 60's, 70's 80's and 90's. The person in the photo is Kathy Woodward, the daughter of Tom and Ruth Woodward who were the founders of the Bonnechere Caves and my employers when I was a teenager working at the caves. Even though the caves were closed to viewing by the general public this summer we still continued to maintain and cultivate our relationships with our local arts community. We invited several musicians’ underground this summer to record music so we could remain current and be in the minds of people so that we can re-open people have not forgotten about us. One of those groups was Class of 91, an Indie Rock Band from Ottawa. Their story So what’s the deal with the cave?! ...We were approached a while back by Chris and Val Hinsperger, the owners of the Bonnechere Caves asking if we wanted to make us of the space for something creative. Like many other businesses impacted by COVID, the caves are closed to the public; however, they asked us if we could help by putting something out in the world to remind people that this natural wonder will be back in action when this whole mess blows over. So we masked up, grabbed some cameras, and went to work (And who knows, maybe there will be something else from the caves a little later on.? ) The Band: Ian Ferguson Vocals, Guitar Brock Sarault Guitar Fred Pantalone Jr. Bass Steve Clifford Drums, Percussion This is the single This is Magic from their recently released album EYES ON FIRE. And it is truly magic! Chris Hinsperger, Bonnechere Caves Co-owner https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtohsbbqihU

Even though the caves are closed for the 2020 season we still are very much supportive and involved in community cultural activities. This is an opportunity for those busy artisans and crafters who have not had the usual chance to showcase their creativity this season. We will have a table set up to display the artwork of Mother Nature and artwork from friends who have their work on display at the caves. Drop by and say hello! Come and enjoy a lazy Saturday immersed in music, art, food and the company of friends and community. Espresso UR Self Cafe will be open for this event. Covid Guidelines will be in place for this event.
