It has certainly been an very long spring and summer beginning. BUT we are almost ready to open officially. We enjoyed a Kinder Ice Cream party on Saturday. Great way for kids to meet over ice cream. Thanks Yolanda. On Friday, our propane cooking utensils will be checked and certified ready for use. Then on Saturday...... BREAKFAST. Watch this page for confirmation. The bakeshop is restored and in working order. Please, Please order ahead. We are closed on Tuesdays. We wil...l be serving breakfast on Saturday, Sunday and holiday Mondays. (8:30 am) On weekdays we open at 9 am and close at 5 PM. Lunch will be served from 11:00am to 3pm. We have ice cream, groceries, milk, cream, juice, ice, worms, gas and propane. We have two full sheets of drywall. Anyone need it?

We have worked so hard. We have completed so much. But with medical appointments every week, trying to find the materials we need and wishing that these two older bodies could still work longer daily, we will not be ready to open this weekend. We will get the floor finished this week and send out better news next week. The bakeshop is also close to being ready for action. Watch for more update news this coming week. Thank you for your concerns. We are selling gas, water, worms and propane. I can almost add drywalling to my resume. Think I will stay with buttertarts.

Four Loons Marina suffered a great deal of damage in the store and the bakeshop. Being so close to the water was a critical factor in this spring's flood. We have started ripping out carpets, drywall, and sodden insulation. Hopefully we can be finished by the middle of June. Some sun would sure help the drying process. A big thank you to everyone who shared sewing materials for us at the marina to take to Cuba. The ladies in Cuba will be thrilled. We have been practicing our sewing skills with much laughter and getting more excited every day. The ladies we taught last year have started their own store, selling all of the clothes they are creating and making. We will attempt to open some new centers and encourage last years learners. Thanks to a friend on the lake we have 10 brand new sewing machines to ship down. Thanks again. Start gathering things for next year.

First Annual Plaid Potluck We had lots to laugh about. Gary really wears that plaid because he wears it daily. Fabulous food.

A big thank you to all the "volunteers" who helped me prepare the box lunches and vegetable treats for last week's AGM. Some constructed boxes, others chopped vegetables, and others bagged and boxed sandwiches. The assembly line was efficient.(It should have been. We had enough bosses.)
