#166HarrowFair will be missed this summer. We thank all the people, businesses and organizations who make The Harrow Fair possible each and every year, and understand the choice made this year to protect the community. The Harrow News will not be publishing this week, September 8. Thank you so much for your understanding, and we will be back in the office September 8.

On Saturday, the parade marks the unofficial 'second start' to the Harrow Fair. It's a unique experience to see our small town filled to the brim with people eager to watch the parade. The rest of the day is filled with midway fun, 4-H Achievement Days, watching the entertainment and exploring the marketplace of the Harrow Fair. #166HarrowFair

#166HarrowFair may be postponed but we can still look back to all the memories we have of our previous fairs. For those who want a glimpse of behind the scenes, the Harrow Fair Friday is one of the busiest days for The Harrow News. Because of the holiday Monday, we must have our entire newspaper finished and submitted before day's end. With a whole line up of Harrow Fair fun to cover, this means an early start for us, where we get to the grounds and start snapping the barns ...and children's events, including the Mom and Dad Calling Contest and the Teddy Bear Parade. Then we rush back to the office, edit the photos, write the cutlines, and get it placed! And the day isn't over yet! Then we are back out there to shoot the fun being had at the midway and the Friday entertainment of the evening. It's a crazy day, but we wouldn't have it any other way.

Celebrating the #166HarrowFair the only way we can, by looking through our memories. The Harrow News has been a long-time supporter of the fair, covering every aspect of the fairgrounds over the course of the four days. On Thursday, the Harrow Fair officially opens with a long day of judging followed by the pie auction to raise funds for the John McGivney Children's Centre and opening ceremonies.

The Harrow News is out now, on newstands! Our office will be closed this week, and we will reopen on September 8. We will not be publishing an edition on September 8, to give our staff an end-of-summer break. Thank you for your understanding and we are looking forward to coming back next week refreshed and ready to publish the 'news that comes home'!

The Harrow News recognizes an error in our latest edition, published August 11. In our article 'COVID-19 Updates', when referring to the Ontario cases as of Monday, August 10, the numbers for deceased were printed as being the same number as the resolved, 36,381. As of this time, August 12, there are 2,787 dead from COVID-19. We apologize for the alarm we may have caused and will rectify the matter in our next edition of The Harrow News.
