So, every now and then I come up with an idea Sometimes good Sometimes not so good There was that time I thought, hey! I should build and open a cafe Another time I thought, hey! I really like pizza, I should have a pizza joint... For the past too many months I’ve been on a mission, we’ll get the band back together and save my ego I found the right spot They offered a very favourable lease arrangement that was more than fair I crunched and recrunched the numbers It was a slam dunk for the win! It would be Breakfast, Lunch & Weekend Brunch by day, cool little live music by night It was pretty much a turn key situation and the financial piece was built for success I was ecstatic! More than adequate space, solid amenities, good kitchen, nice little bar, ample parking, trusting, supportive landlord...it was a gooder I would use Le Burger Week to launch, line up some performers, build a small team and giver! But Something keep tugging at my gut and for several weeks I kept not moving for forward and sealing the deal... I talked about it to anyone who would listen, nobody could find the downside And then, a couple weeks back BAM! It hit me...hard I’m over 60 years of age I live with heart disease I lost a kidney to cancer I struggle with obesity I’m a smoker NOT the picture of health I’m the guy that this virus should have taken by now But, only the good die young Once I wrapped my head around what was holding me back, the internal interrogation began The short answer is... What the fuck was I thinking? Do I love to play restaurant? YEP Is my food pretty OK? YEP Do I wish there are more venues for the local performers to work? YEP Is this the right time? NOPE! NOPE! NOPE!
