Doug's Junction Service has been a long time supporter of the mission and was the sponsor for last evening's meal. We are so grateful for your support . The chicken looks so tasty. I'm sure our guests enjoyed it.

Recently the Mission received a pallet and a half of assorted baby, infant, and toddler supplies. After our daycares took what they wanted for our children's families, we were still able to bless Options Pregnancy Center with 2 SUV's full of product including diapers, wipes, baby bottles, various baby foods, etc!! Much of it was organic product as well. #sharingiscaring #Kindness #loveyourneighbours #goodstuff

Great big shout-out to Brian Schmidt and Independent Financial Services for sponsoring today's supper meal; which consisted of a pulled pork sandwich, mixed vegetables, a tossed salad, an apple, and a bottle of water. Thankyou so much, we couldn't serve all the people we do without your help! Greatly appreciated!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! Yesterday we served just over 420 Thanksgiving meals to the public! The meal consisted of Ham and Turkey, potatoes and stuffing, gravy, mixed vegetables, a bun & butter, pumpkin cookies with icing, and a bottle of water! Though we weren't able to sit down and enjoy a meal together we still celebrated the holiday, knowing that even in troubled times there is much to give thanks for! - Joe

Sending THANKS to Joe & Nancy Miller, and Nancy's father John, for sponsoring last Wednesday's and Friday's supper meals at the Gerri Carroll Hope Centre. Wednesday we served Chili, a bun & butter, and some fresh fruit (watermelon and cantaloupe), and on Friday it was Smokies, salad and coleslaw, and dessert.

30TH ANNIVERSARY BBQ Sending out a great big thanks to Reza and all of the crew at Creek Construction for sponsoring yesterdays BBQ and 'Live on Location' with CKRM, as part of this year's 30th anniversary celebrations for the Mission! We fed 298 people, and we enjoyed a beautiful sunny fall day in the process!

MEAL SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES: Throughout this pandemic Souls Harbour Rescue Mission continues to provide meals to those in need, and as we approach winter, and as the federal government food and financial assistance programs begin to subside and roll back, our numbers for meals served are rising. Having said that, I'm wondering if you, or someone you know, perhaps a business or a church, would be interested in sponsoring a meal this September or October? Would you be so kin...d as to consider doing that? Please see the attached promotional flyer, and if you have any questions feel free to message me directly. PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! Thanks for your time and consideration! Joe.

RESCUE AWARDS: Every year at our 'Love Your Neighbour Banquet' we give away a RESCUE Award to an individual, a business, a church, etc., that we want to recognize as having made a significant contribution to the work and ministry of Souls Harbour Rescue Mission through their volunteer time, their financial support, and so on. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we had to cancel our banquet this May, BUT the good news is that instead of just giving away one award, we decided to giv...e away three this year! So ... without further adieu CONGRATULATIONS to Harvard Broad Casting (who recently received their award at a 30th anniversary BBQ and 'live on location' on August 14th), and to WESTRIDGE CONSTRUCTION and LILLIAN ANDREWS!! Westridge has financially supported the work of Souls Harbour significantly for the last 5 years! Not to mention that they built our new building as well! And Lil has been donating her time and her baking skills day after day, week after week, for a long time too! As it turns out she also won the 2nd prize in our 30th anniversary Facebook contest. Good for her! THANK-YOU SO MUCH!! YOU'RE ALL A HUGE BLESSING TO US!

Saying thanks to Ethan our summer intern at Riverside Mission in Moose Jaw, who's heading back to HARVARD for his 4th year of schooling this September. Ya ... the HARVARD, that would be the one!! In his 1st year he did an internship at parliament in Ottawa with the Canadian Government. The 2nd year saw him spending his summer with a law firm in New York City, and because he's originally from Moose Jaw, he decided to do his 3rd year summer internship with Riverside Mission; a humanitarian organization! THANKS for everything 'Micheal' .... I mean Ethan, (inside joke as per the going away cake we got him) for all your help, your kindness, and your fellowship! You are blessing to us! All the best in the future!

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Over the last two weeks we've seen our numbers for meals served to the public starting to rise again. We have lots of food right now but what we're in real need of is bottled water and Styrofoam takeout containers for the 'take-out' meals. If you would like to donate a flat of water, maybe even a pallet if your a business or a church, and/or make a donation to help us purchase these supplies that would be greatly appreciated! ALSO, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST.... Thanks so much! - Joe.

CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF SERVICE!! Yesterday we celebrated the end of our 30 day prize give-away contest via Facebook, with a BBQ at 1632 Angus Street, where we announced the grand prize winner during our 'live-on location' with 620 CKRM! So ... first of all, lets congratulate HOLLY FRASER on winning the $500 gift certificate to Temple Gardens Mineral Spa in Moose Jaw, and the $250 Master Card! ... We had well over 300 people in attendance yesterday! SOCIAL DISTANCING was in place. We served them a hamburger and a hot dog, a bag of chips and a pop, and a piece of 30th anniversary cake! Having said that, I would like to give a special thanks to CHRIS and everyone at LOBLAWS REGINA for not just donating all the food for the event, but for donating an additional 6 pallets of product to the Mission; including diapers, pillows, cleaning supplies, and lots of food. #amazing #goingtheextramile We were also able to present HARVARD BROADCASTING with a 2020 RESCUE AWARD. This award is normally presented to a recipient at our annual love your neighbor fundraising banquet which was unfortunately cancelled this year due to Covid-19. The award recognizes an individual, business, church, etc for outstanding support of the Mission. Harvard has sponsored a supper meal every month for the last year. They have not only paid for the meal but they've supplied the volunteers too. Though the way we serve our meals now looks a little different, they have remained faithful to their commitment throughout the pandemic!! #blownaway #loveyourneighbor In closing, I just want to thank everyone for their ongoing support once again, and I hope you're having a great weekend as well! Stay safe! - Joe Miller, Executive Director P.S. There will be another 30th anniversary live-on-location with CKRM and BBQ on September 11th of this year. Same place, same time.
