Some fun lights being put up in this house reno. Actually gives off a nice light

I get allot of calls about installing plugs that look like this on their kitchen counters. Unfortunately the answer is no. It’s not possible. About 90% of existing homes at least 5 yrs old and older have what’s called split plugs they are plugs that have two breakers controlling them. Which means when you pull it out you will see a red &black wire, as well as a white wire. In the picture you see of the wiring of one of these plugs shows only two spots for wires . So in the...ory you would have to cap the red wire in back of box and only use the black one, not allowed. You wouldn’t be able to run a kettle or coffee maker at the same time. Now in the last picture I show a funnier looking plug, now that plug is rated for 20a, which is allowed on your kitchen counter, (because a 20a wire has been ran from breaker panel and a 20a breaker is installed)...that’s providing your kitchen has been renovated recently or brand new. Pretty cool idea

When you have to fish between pot lights against the direction of the joists, when there is no strapping. Try and make a small hole on either side of each joist. Stick fish tape through one end..and attach a good magnet to a screwdriver at the other end..fish tape may find it. (It works)
