1st Baker Creek Pack & Troop In Celebration of Founder’s Day! Feb 22nd, 2021

Please make sure to: - Preform a Covid Health Check before! - Wear a mask! - Bring your own water bottle. - Have indoor shoes or slippers to wear. - Be prepared to spend at least 15 minutes outside! *** Bring a non-perishable food item that can be donate to the Quesnel Salvation Army Food Bank. This should be an item from your cupboard to theirs. For many years in Quesnel, BPSA and the Girl Guides have done a Hike for Hunger to celebrate Founder’s /Thinking Day, we would still like to honour the tradition of helping others in our community. See you there!!!

It was announced on Saturday that after the great success of the Leaping Wolf virtual meetings, Scouter Sara and Scouter Wendy will start to offer OPTIONAL weekly virtual meetings for EXPLORERS. The weekly virtual meetings will be open to any interested Explorer who would like to independently advance their skills outside of Troop meetings. ie: practice knots, first aid, theory, etc. Topics will be chosen by those Explorers in the call. We will test this pilot addition to ...the Explorer schedule over the course of the next three weeks. (Feb 3, 10 & 17) The call will be limited one hour each week: 7:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday’s. Explorers must have their CAMERA’S ON o effectively communicate in learning opportunities. Only 4 Explorers will be accepted to stay in the call. Others will be asked to try again next week, as these will be focused skill meetings. Each Wednesday, a GOOGLE MEET link will be posted to the Explorer Parent Messenger group chat & Google Hangouts Explorer chat to join the call. Parents should be able to share this link to household devices, if necessary. The link will not be shared on the Facebook page. The Explorer Troop was having some fun today too! They had 2 Leaping Wolf candidates join them for their meeting. The Patrol Leaders are getting faster at their virtual planning sessions before each Saturday meeting and planned a great day! The Patrols took some quality time working on Whippings & Fusing in their corners before enjoying their afternoon snack ... The Troop held a long discussion on what each of the laws meant to individual Explorers, based on their level It was heart warming today to listen to how some of their understanding of the laws, especially what HONOUR means to them has changed over the years. The Cougars took the win in the First Aid Patrol Scenario Competition Each member was given a copy of the new 2nd Class Requirements pocket book and the requirements & changes were reviewed and discussed The Troop is doing an excellent job of following all of the covid procedures It’s truly amazing how resilient they are! These Explorer don’t even let it slow them down anymore. We can’t wait for the go ahead for an overnight!!!!
